They need a backend engineer who understands systems â not just syntax.
What Youâll Own
A self-hosted PostgreSQL environment
Database optimisation for long-running, parallel HPC workloads
Backup, recovery, and data integrity
Schema design, access controls, permissions
Python-based ETL pipelines
Monitoring and observability across the stack
Youâll work directly with R\&D and senior technical leadership.
This is high-trust, high-impact work.
Non-Negotiables:
3+ years in serious database engineering
Strong PostgreSQL (self-hosted)
Solid Linux background
Containers (Docker or Podman)
Strong Python fundamentals
Experience with monitoring tools
Nice to Have:
ETL orchestration tools (Prefect, Dagster, Airflow)
Parallel computing frameworks or schedulers (OpenMP, MPI, SLURM)
