Your Responsibilities:* Development of new controls functions for continuous enhancement of our reciprocating gas engine products utilized for production of electricity and heat, addressing new market requirements such as highest transient performance, fuel flexibility (including hydrogen), and future safety and cyber security regulations
Specification, implementation, and testing of new software features and controls algorithms
Transient modelling and simulation of our engine products being integrated into local electric networks or large grids
Optimization of transient engine performance both on-engine and in simulation
Regular travel (3-4 times per year, 1 up to 4 weeks per trip), primarily to the US, to accompany field validation of new controls functions and support service technicians in commissioning and debugging
Close collaboration with the local engineering team at our HQ in Jenbach, reporting to the engineering functional manager for electric systems and controls development, and receiving technical guidance from the controls design team leader
Your Profile:* PhD or Master’s degree in Controls, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering (Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience also considered)
More than 8 years of professional experience in controls engineering, with a strong technical background in reciprocating combustion engines
Proficient in Matlab Simulink, with solid references of usage
Educational and/or professional background in controls theory, dynamic systems modelling, and model-based controls design
Fluent English skills, both written and spoken; experience in generating technical documents
Enjoys working in a global, multicultural environment
Willingness to learn structured text-based PLC programming
A valid work permit for Austria is a prerequisite for this position (Non-EU citizens: please attach the work permit to the application)
