About The Role

We are seeking a talented Web Developer Engineer to join our dynamic team and contribute to building innovative, cutting-edge web products tailored for a single retailer. This role involves developing tools and engaging interfaces that empower customers to evaluate products and make informed purchasing decisions. As a Web Developer Engineer at Instacart, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable web applications utilizing the latest frameworks and technologies. Your work will directly impact the customer experience by delivering fast, personalized, and visually compelling interfaces across various devices and surfaces.

Collaboration is key in this role. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including data scientists, product managers, UX designers, and other engineering professionals to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of web solutions. Qualifications

Recent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technology discipline

2-4 years of professional experience in software development or related fields

Experience working with distributed systems

Proficiency in building end-to-end features or publishing personal applications

Strong skills in developing web products using React.js

Experience with scaling web applications and proficiency in Ruby or Golang

Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work effectively within a team

Growth mindset with openness to feedback and continuous learning

Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and ability to deliver projects on time and within budget

Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performance web applications using modern frameworks and tools

Collaborate with stakeholders to create interactive, visually appealing interfaces for product evaluation

Ensure consistent and optimized user experiences across all devices and surfaces

Stay current with emerging web technologies and integrate innovative solutions into development processes

Develop web solutions utilizing React.js, ensuring best practices for scalability and performance

Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities to maintain high-quality standards

Work closely with cross-functional teams to align technical implementation with business goals

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team
