We are seeking a skilled and qualified Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) Engineer \& Installer to join our growing renewable energy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for technical knowledge and support assisting our network with installations, commissioning, maintenance, and servicing of air source heat pump systems in domestic and/or commercial properties. This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, energy-efficient heating solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Experience in installing and commissioning air source heat pump systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications and MCS standards.
Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine system suitability and design requirements.
Experience in servicing, maintenance, and repairs of existing heat pump systems to ensure optimum performance and efficiency.
Understand associated plumbing and heating works, including cylinder and underfloor heating connections.
Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshoot system faults efficiently.
Provide excellent customer service, explaining system operation and maintenance to clients.
Understand all documentation and certification, including commissioning sheets and compliance reports.
Liaise with project managers, suppliers, and clients to ensure smooth project delivery.
Stay updated on new technologies and industry best practices in renewable energy.
Qualifications \& Experience:
Essential:
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing, Heating, or equivalent trade qualification.
Proven experience in ASHP installation and maintenance (minimum 2 years preferred).
Full UK driving licence.
Strong understanding of heating system design and controls.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
G3 Unvented Hot Water qualification.
BPEC Heat Pump qualification.
Desirable:
MCS certification or experience working within MCS-accredited companies.
Electrical qualification (e.g., 18th Edition Wiring Regulations).
Experience with other renewable technologies (e.g., solar PV, ground source heat pumps).
F-Gas Category 1 certification (if installing systems with refrigerants).
