InVision is a Professional Recruitment Firm involved in Engineering, Industrial/Skilled Trades, Information Technology and Professional Services within Canada and the U.S. We have a successful track record working on both small and large recruitment projects, across North America.

Our client is an automation and controls provider for machine builders and companies looking to expand their team in the Water/Wastewater division. They are actively looking to hire a SCADA Programmer to join their growing team.

Responsibilities:

Develop and configure PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems.

Design, test, and deploy comprehensive industrial automation solutions.

Prepare detailed documentation packages, including design specifications, FAT/SAT documentation, user guides, and training materials.

Install software applications and perform system commissioning at customer sites.

Work closely with internal Electrical Designers to define project requirements, review and approve designs, and complete post-commissioning redline updates.

Conduct on-site field assessments to identify design limitations and requirements.

Partner with electrical teams to execute I/O verification and lead troubleshooting efforts.

Take ownership of project deliverables, including meeting financial and performance targets.

Build strong relationships with customers and contribute to achieving their operational goals.

Develop and program SCADA systems specifically for wastewater treatment operations.

Implement automation strategies to enhance system efficiency and performance.

Maintain accurate project documentation, including technical specifications and training resources.

Collaborate with engineering and operations personnel to determine and fulfill system requirements.

Perform system integration, testing, and commissioning activities at client locations.

Diagnose and resolve issues related to SCADA and automation systems.

Deliver technical support and training to end users.

Ensure all solutions comply with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Experience and Education:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

At least 5 years of experience in SCADA programming and industrial automation, preferably within the water or wastewater sector.

Hands-on experience with SCADA platforms such as GE Proficy, AVEVA, Wonderware, or Ignition.

Strong expertise in PLC programming and HMI development.

Familiarity with industrial communication protocols including Ethernet/IP, Modbus, and OPC.

General knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes and related equipment.

Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively.

Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client sites as required.
