Position title: Executive Level 1 - Senior Cloud Engineer_EXT

Our Opportunity
The Senior Cloud Engineer is responsible for building, governing and collaborating with stakeholders in relation to IP Australia's cloud platform for consumption by business areas and automation of cloud services. IP Australia's cloud services are hosted in AWS and Azure with automation hosted in Azure DevOps.
As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, this is a role requiring effective stakeholder engagement, a high level of system design and cloud automation work, managed within a software development framework. As the Senior Cloud Engineer, you will:
Develop cloud system designs for cloud infrastructure and cloud applications
Troubleshoot cloud services and system issues and bugs, perform changes and fixes in non-production and production environments
Provide subject matter expertise (including solution design and best practice recommendations, etc) and support for cloud services
Liaise with product owners and stakeholders to deliver continuous improvements to cloud services and systems
Develop documentation and provide training and mentoring to junior members of relevant teams
Provide advice and recommendations in relation to FinOps best practices and emerging trends
Job specific capabilities
The successful candidate will have the following:
3+ years’ experience in cloud architecture, management, operations, or related roles
Self-motivation, with a track record of taking responsibility, managing and prioritising competing workloads, and delivering results
Well-developed research, analysis, solution design and problem-solving skills
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to provide advice and direction on complex technical matters
Leadership, including ability to train and supervise staff, work flexibly across various initiatives, and develop and manage productive stakeholder relationships
Understanding of the importance of quality assurance, consistency/reuse, version control and deployment processes in an ICT context
Knowledge/experience relating to intellectual property rights administration (or similar administrative processes) and their relevant Acts and Regulations, or demonstrated ability to pick up this knowledge quickly
Experience with service, project, content, and knowledge management tools such as Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, Azure DevOps and/or ServiceNow
Experience in cloud financial management
Relevant tertiary and/or industry certifications, or equivalent experience is highly regarded.
To support the technical elements of the role, you will also demonstrate that you have ongoing experience with ICT Infrastructure, hyperscale cloud providers and infrastructure as code, with expertise in:
Development, implementation and support of secure cloud services in AWS and/or Azure
Development, implementation and support of secure automation pipelines using Azure DevOps, Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM and CDKs/SDKs (Python, Go, Rust) or similar
