The Opportunity

A great opportunity for an Engineer who’s passionate about continuous improvements and delivering measurable impacts. As a Continuous Improvement Engineer, you will play a key role in implementing and driving continuous improvement projects directly related to achieving the desired efficiency of the James Hardie production process to meet customer and project needs and timelines.

Your expertise will be crucial in upholding our Zero Harm responsibilities and driving our commitment to world-class manufacturing.

You are an early riser, happy to start work early at 6:00AM and finish early at 2:30PM

What you’ll do

Collaborate with manufacturing team to ensure lean operating system is implemented in a standardised way and to a quality standard

Drive and implement continuous improvements projects

Support in building capability in the lean operating system tools and processes

Support the development of the Continuous Improvement plans, track quality execution and analyse data to identify continuous improvement opportunities

Identify efficiency improvements where investment is required and prepare proposals for approval and implementation to achieve efficiency gains and capacity improvements.

Revise, implement and monitor operating standards and procedures.

Prepare and review technical reports to support project outcomes and decision-making

Provide support to PCI engineers to successfully implement Capital Projects or any line improvement project

Provide Engineering support to various stakeholders

What you’ll bring

Degree qualified in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Material Sciences) or other relevant disciplines

2-5 years of experience in a similar role

Experience in a manufacturing environment, a thorough understanding of manufacturing processes and procedures

Experience in Lean Six Sigma methodologies and continuous improvement tools

Ability to interpret technical drawings and diagrams using tools like AutoCAD

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Ability to analyse and trend data for accurate rectification action

A strong capability for gap analysis, planning and priority setting

Outcome focused and determined to succeed in an ever-changing environment

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
