Job Description

At Hire With Jarvis, we help organizations of all sizes hire the right people, in the right seats, at the right time.

We are proud to partner with a fast growing, venture backed marketplace company that is redefining how people experience premium hospitality. They have built a new category that gives consumers access to luxury hotel amenities without the need for an overnight stay. With millions of customers served and thousands of hospitality partners nationwide, they are scaling rapidly and investing heavily in their product and engineering team.

We are hiring a Senior Frontend Engineer to join their in person team in New York City. This is a high impact role focused on leading a major web marketplace rewrite initiative. If you thrive on owning high traffic user journeys, setting technical standards, and elevating a team around you, this is an opportunity to make a lasting mark.

What We Are Looking For

5+ years of professional experience building B2B or B2C SaaS products

Experience in FinTech, payments, or marketplace platforms is a strong plus

Background working at fast growing startups or large product driven technology companies

Experience building at scale within high traffic platforms such as marketplace, payments, or logistics systems

Comfortable operating in high ownership, fast moving environments with minimal bureaucracy

Ability to contribute to architecture discussions while remaining hands on in the code

Strong communication skills across distributed teams and time zones

Engineers who have built products at high growth startups or well known product organizations such as Uber, DoorDash, Twilio, Stripe, or similar environments tend to thrive in this role.

Why This Role Matters

The marketplace is the heart of the business. It drives discovery, conversion, and revenue at scale. This hire will act as a technical anchor for the frontend rewrite program, starting with the highest traffic surfaces including Search Results and Detail pages.

You will not just ship features. You will define the architecture, patterns, and standards that the frontend team will use for years to come. This is a Senior level role with Staff level scope and a clear growth path to expanded ownership and influence.

What You Will Do

Own major frontend initiatives end to end across core marketplace experiences, with clear goals tied to Core Web Vitals, SEO performance, and conversion.

Lead technical design for large scale changes, including writing and driving RFCs and design docs in collaboration with Product and Design.

Define and implement reusable patterns in a Next.js App Router environment, including routing, data fetching, caching strategy, component architecture, error handling, and analytics instrumentation.

Raise the engineering bar through thoughtful code reviews, mentorship, and standards setting across a growing team.

Improve developer velocity by shaping testing strategy with Playwright, strengthening observability with Datadog, and maintaining high quality CI practices.

Partner closely with backend engineers to shape API contracts that improve frontend performance and iteration speed

Tech Environment

Frontend: Next.js with App Router, React, TypeScript, Tailwind, shadcn/ui

Testing: Playwright

Observability: Datadog

Backend context: Ruby on Rails and Node.js on AWS, with Postgres and MongoDB

Growth Path

This role is designed to evolve. Initially, you will own critical marketplace surfaces. Over time, you will expand your scope to set organization wide frontend standards, influence adjacent teams, and drive additional high impact initiatives as the rewrite program scales.
