We’re looking for a Maintenance Programs Engineer who’s not only technically sharp but also brings energy, creativity, and a collaborative mindset. In this role, you’ll be part of a team that develops Approved Maintenance Programs (AMPs) to deliver industry-leading safety, regulatory compliance, operational reliability, and cost-efficiency.

Reporting to the Maintenance Programs Manager, your key responsibilities include:

Ensuring the Approved Maintenance Programs remain 100% compliant with applicable regulations

Ensuring the Approved Maintenance Programs are implemented and maintained with 100% accuracy into the Maintenance Information System (TRAX)

Analysing aircraft reliability data and scheduled maintenance findings to ensure optimal effectiveness of the AMP

Obtaining Maintenance Program Approval Employee (MPAE) authorisation (when eligible) and using this authorisation to review and approve AMP revisions, variations, and concessions

Providing AMP development services for other Qantas Group Airlines (Jetstar Japan, Express Freighters Australia, and Network Aviation)

Playing an active role in improving how we work day to day, spotting things that could run more smoothly and helping make real changes that benefit the whole team

Taking ownership of project work that adds value beyond routine tasks, contributing to strategic initiatives and solving complex problems

To be successful in this role you will have:

Engineering degree level qualification or be a trained industry engineering professional (Aircraft trade certificate and/or Aircraft Maintenance License holder)

Experience developing Aircraft Maintenance Programs

Sound knowledge of CASA regulations, particularly Part 42 and Part 145

Strong analytical ability using IT platforms (Excel, Word, Access) and understanding of TRAX, Boeing Maintenance Performance Toolbox and Airbus AIRNAV

High energy, strong organisational skills, and a natural ability to connect with others. You're great at juggling priorities, staying calm under pressure, and keeping the bigger picture in focus to ensure your work drives real value for the team and the business.
