The Role
The UWP/.Net Developer plays a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining Jomablue’s Windows-based onsite event applications. These applications power onsite operations such as guest check-in, badge printing, and real-time attendee engagement — making this role critical to delivering flawless event experiences.
This role involves working across the full software development lifecycle, implementing UI features using UWP/WinUI, integrating with backend APIs, improving app performance, and ensuring reliability for high-traffic events. You will collaborate closely with engineers, QA, product, and onsite delivery teams to build stable, user-friendly applications that support our customers globally.
You must be motivated and passionate about great service. Within a small team, you understand that working closely with others and pitching in when necessary helps our team be stronger and reach our goals.
This is a 6-month fixed-term contract role, with the option to extend up to 12 months.
When and Where
This is a full-time remote role aligned to Sydney (AEST/AEDT) working hours.
Your Duties
Design, build, and maintain Windows applications using UWP/WinUI and the .NET ecosystem.
Integrate the application with backend APIs and onsite hardware such as scanners or printers.
Troubleshoot issues, optimise performance, and collaborate with the product team to deliver stable, user-friendly software.
Skills and Experience

Essential:
Strong experience with C# and .NET / .NET Core
Experience building Windows applications using UWP, WinUI, or WPF
Proficiency with XAML and MVVM architectural patterns
Experience integrating with REST APIs
Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills
Strong test-orientated development exposure
Desirable:
Exposure to WinUI 3, MAUI, or migration from UWP
Familiarity with offline-first app design
Experience with AWS cloud services
CI/CD experience (Bitbucket Pipelines, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
Experience with unit testing frameworks for .NET
Experience with Laravel/PHP
Webapp knowledge, specifically React or React Native
