As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Payments Technology team, you are an integral part of an agile team dedicated to enhancing, building, and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner.
Job responsibilities
Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
Proficiently manage all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
Development expertise, with specific focus on Java technology (Core \& EE) with Spring Frameworks (Spring Core \& Spring Boot).
Strong oral and written communication skills, including technical documentation.
Deep understanding of relational DB (PostgreSQL \& Oracle) and Stored Procedures.
Strong knowledge and application of SCM \& Build tools (Maven, Jenkins, Git, Subversion, SONAR); DevOps knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment.
Experience with microservices, integration patterns, and messaging technologies (e.g., JMS, MQ Series, Kafka).
Experience with job scheduling technologies like Autosys and Control-M and testing tools like Mockito or JMeter.
Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals, and passionate about building an innovative culture.
Experience working in an Agile Environment.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and Skills:
Experience with caching solutions.
Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD).
UI development experience.
Experience in UNIX and scripting languages (Shell, Perl).
Cloud Development Experience.
