Over 30 years, we've grown from humble beginnings (founded 1995) to a global digital lottery technology leader (ASX: JIN), operating in Australia, the UK, Canada and the USA. We partner with thousands of good causes worldwide, helping raise over $290M in FY25 alone. Innovation is at the heart of everything we do.
Our Growth â And It's By Design
Following a series of significant client wins and the expansion of our business through international acquisitions, we're in an exciting phase of growth. To support this momentum, we're scaling our capability and building out our teams to meet increasing demand across our platforms and products.
This growth is driven by a deliberate investment ahead of demand as we support a larger, more complex, and increasingly global business. We're expanding our teams to continue delivering high-quality, scalable solutions.
What will you be doing?
This is a hands-on, senior role where you'll step in quickly and earn trust fast. You will own the product direction and delivery outcomes for one or more of our core platform squads. You'll work closely with engineers, designers, delivery leads and senior stakeholders to define the right problems and shape pragmatic solutions. You will guide initiatives from idea through delivery and ongoing optimisation, balancing new feature work, infrastructure spin-ups and ongoing maintenance.
Youâll manage risk, scope and expectations across multiple teams so we deliver on critical contractual commitments for our partners. Youâll also get deep into how our platform works, including areas like payments and prize fulfilment. Your goal is to keep the "engine room" of Jumbo (our core services and infrastructure) running reliably at scale.
What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like
Own the product backlog and delivery outcomes for one or more Platform engineering teams, ensuring work is clearly defined, prioritised and aligned to business goals.
Lead end-to-end product discovery and delivery lifecycle for platform initiatives, translating ambiguous business and contractual problems into clear opportunities and executable scopes.
Partner closely with engineers, architects and customer experience (CX) teams to shape technical solutions that keep the platform reliable, scalable and fit for purpose.
Manage competing priorities across multiple stakeholders, facilitating alignment and decision-making. Support key contracts (e.g. Lotterywest, RSL) by sequencing work and monitoring progress to reduce slippage risk.
Lead squad ceremonies (planning, refinement, reviews, retros) and improve how teams plan, deliver, and reflect on their work.
Communicate clearly and regularly with stakeholders on what is being worked on, why it matters, timelines, risks and changes in direction.
Use data, insights and feedback from customers, partners and internal teams to inform priorities and validate outcomes.
Champion platform resilience by prioritising maintenance and reliability work, ensuring the underlying systems that power our lotteries run smoothly as we scale.
Balance your focus across product-led platform initiatives and project-driven work, sequencing and prioritising based on business needs, contractual commitments and available capacity.
What Youâll Be Able to Bring to the Role
Strong experience as a Product Manager or equivalent lead role working with software engineering teams. You have a proven ability to hit the ground running in complex organisations.
Comfortable operating in ambiguity â able to navigate incomplete requirements, competing priorities, and changing direction without losing momentum
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills â you're clear, concise, and build trust quickly. You can challenge ideas constructively and respectfully, manage competing priorities, and adapt your approach based on context and stakeholder needs.
Experience working on platform, backend, or infrastructure-heavy products (payments, messaging, integrations, etc.) or a strong interest in moving into this space
Technical fluency â you may have written code before. At a minimum, youâre familiar with programming languages like Go and message queues such as Kafka. You understand APIs (application programming interfaces) and microservices (small independent services) and feel comfortable engaging deeply with engineers.
Demonstrated ability to break down complex problems, shape scope, and guide work from idea through to delivery using a clear product process. You bring strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
Track record of delivering work against firm timelines or contractual commitments while managing risk and expectations
A pragmatic, outcome-focused mindset â willing to iterate, trade off, and adjust plans as new information or contracts emerge
Ability to operate effectively both with clear direction from leadership and independently when required, adapting your approach based on context and stakeholder needs.
