We are seeking a results-driven and strategic Product Manager to oversee our dental merchandise and sundries portfolio, which includes consumables, materials, and everyday clinical supplies. This position plays a critical role in driving product strategy, optimizing procurement, and ensuring operational excellence across all merchandise categories. The ideal candidate combines strong business acumen with a deep understanding of the dental consumables market and the ability to translate market insights into actionable strategies.

Location:

Hybrid – Based in Markham, Ontario or Montreal, QC (open to candidates from both provinces).

Job Overview:

Product Portfolio Management:

Lead the planning and lifecycle management of dental consumables and merchandise, aligning offerings with evolving market trends and customer needs.

Oversee category and item data cleansing, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and standardization across all product databases and ERP systems.

Drive product rationalization initiatives to streamline the merchandise portfolio, eliminate redundancies, and improve category profitability.

Shape the performance and profitability of the merchandise portfolios for the company.

Market Analysis:

Conduct competitive research and category analysis to identify product gaps, innovation opportunities, and strategic growth areas.

Provide recommendations for pricing, product positioning, and supplier mix to enhance overall performance.

Procurement and Inventory Oversight:

Manage supplier selection, purchasing, and inventory control to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize costs.

Collaborate with Procurement and Operations to ensure product availability and efficient demand planning.

Supplier and Vendor Relations:

Develop and maintain strong partnerships with manufacturers and distributors to ensure quality, reliability, and cost efficiency.

Negotiate supplier contracts and rebate programs to support profitability and growth.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations to ensure smooth product launches, accurate pricing, and sales enablement.

Partner with IT and Data teams to maintain product data integrity and enhance system usability for internal stakeholders.

Identify and execute process enhancements to streamline operations, boost efficiency, and elevate customer satisfaction.

Regulatory and Cost Management:

Ensure all products meet Health Canada, CSA, and ISO standards in collaboration with regulatory teams.

Monitor product margins, negotiate supplier agreements, and implement cost-saving initiatives to achieve financial targets.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, category management, or procurement within the dental or medical consumables industry.

Proven success in managing supplier relationships, optimizing product assortments, and driving new product launches.

Strong analytical, negotiation, and project management skills.

Proficiency in ERP systems, including Link2Spire, for category and product data management.

Bilingual in English and French is considered an asset, but not required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
