Role: Virtualization \& Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Newcastle, NSW Sydney
Experience: 5 – 10 years
Work Arrangement: Full-time onsite at client office (5 days/week). No remote work unless exceptionally agreed.
Key Responsibilities \& Skills:
Virtualization \& Cloud Infrastructure Engineer role with expertise in VMware, Nutanix NC2, Windows/Linux, and enterprise storage
Design, deploy, optimize, and manage hybrid and cloud infrastructure environments for enterprise workloads
Deploy, configure, and manage VMware vSphere, ESXi hosts, vCenter, vMotion, DRS, HA clusters, and vSAN
Perform VM provisioning, lifecycle management, snapshots, templates, and cold/hot migrations
Troubleshoot CPU, memory, storage I/O, and network latency performance issues
Implement and support VMware Tools, vSphere Replication, and backup/DR integrations
Deploy and manage Nutanix NC2 clusters on AWS and Azure
Configure and optimize AHV, Prism Central/Element, Calm automation, and Xi Leap (DR)
Perform cluster expansion, upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning
Integrate NC2 with Active Directory, networking, RBAC, and security tools
Manage Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 environments
Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
Perform patch management, PowerShell automation, and performance tuning
Troubleshoot OS-level issues, services, logs, and performance counters
Administer Linux servers (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu)
Perform user management, package installation, kernel updates, LVM, and system hardening
Troubleshoot boot issues, logs, system services, and networking problems
Use Bash scripting and support automation tools (Ansible preferred)
Manage SAN and NAS storage from vendors such as NetApp, Dell EMC, HPE, and Pure
Configure LUNs, volumes, shares, zoning, and masking
Administer iSCSI, Fibre Channel, NFS, and SMB protocols
Monitor storage capacity, performance, replication, and DR solutions
Work hands-on with Azure and AWS compute, networking, storage, backup, and monitoring services
Perform infrastructure patching, automation, hardening, and compliance checks
Maintain high availability and disaster recovery across hybrid environments
Document architecture designs, SOPs, and standard deployment patterns
Required skills include VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, vSAN, and NSX (preferred)
Strong experience with Nutanix NC2 and hybrid multicloud environments
