Weâre looking for a Field Asset Engineer to join our team based in Otahuhu Auckland. In this role, youâll manage rail track assets by planning and preparing work that ensures our metro network stays safe, reliable, and fit for the future.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Creating and managing work plans that align with our Asset Management strategy.
Conducting inspections and site audits to ensure code compliance.
Using systems like Maximo to analyse engineering data and update asset records.
Collaborating with planning and production teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
Monitoring progress, supporting teams on-site, and upholding safety at every step.
Youâll play a vital part in maintaining the integrity of our network as we transform it to support faster journeys and greater capacity.

Weâre after someone who is organised, technically capable, and thrives in a collaborative environment.
To succeed in this role, youâll bring:
A tertiary qualification in engineering or a related field.
Experience in rail or infrastructure project environments.
Strong knowledge of asset management and planning systems (e.g. Maximo).
The ability to analyse data, interpret standards, and provide technical advice.
A safety-first mindset and the ability to respond calmly under pressure.
Great communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
Desirable: Project management certification (e.g. PMP or PRINCE2) and familiarity with M120 standards.
