I. What You’ll Do
We are looking for a technically strong
Python Developer
to join our dynamic operations team. In this role, you will be the
first line of support
for researchers and internal users by managing and
resolving issues
via our
JIRA service desk
.
You will play a key role in driving operational efficiency through automation and smart tooling, ensuring timely and effective support.
To help manage the flow of issues and resolve them. For the more complex issues they can then redirect to the DevOps team for their handling, but the support engineer must still keep ownership;
To come up with solutions to improve the efficiency of resolving issues. This would include exploring the user of bots to automate some of the common tasks, as well as to write scripts to programmatically categorize and handle the tickets in the JIRA service desk.
II. Job Qualifications
Must-have Skills:
At least 2.5 years
of experience in
Python
(
NumPy, Pandas, etc.)
Experienced in developing and maintaining web-based applications using technologies such as
JavaScript (Node.js)
for backend services and Python frameworks
(Django, Flask, FastAPI).
Familiarity with
Unix/Linux
environments and
shell scripting.
Hands-on experience with
SQL
and
relational databases.
Working knowledge of
JIRA, Git
, and monitoring tools such as
Grafana, Prometheus.
Strong English
communication and coordination skills.
Strong problem-solving mindset with a proactive attitude.
Ability to take ownership of issues and see them through to resolution.
Nice-to-Have Skills
Background in
DevOps
or
operational support roles.
Exposure to
Machine Learning
or
Artificial Intelligence
techniques.
Familiarity with
Generative AI tools
(e.g., Chat GPT, Gemini)
for enhancing support efficiency.
