We are working with a boutique, global strategy consulting firm. To support continued expansion, the client is is seeking an Analyst within its Analytics \& Innovation Practice. This would be an individual with a background in Data Analytics, Data Science, or Data Engineering.
It is a very exciting opportunity for someone with between 1-5 years experience in the data analytical arena, looking to be responsible for designing, building, and managing analytical solutions to enable the firm's consultants and clients to make informed, empirical-based decisions. This individual will work across multiple project, collaborating closely with internal stakeholders to transform complex data into clear and actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with consulting teams and internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver analytical solutions that drive measurable outcomes.
Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines and workflows using Python, SQL, and Big Data technologies.
Clean, transform, and validate data from diverse sources to ensure consistency and reliability.
Identify and resolve data quality issues while documenting processes and improvements.
Communicate complex analytical and technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Serve as a subject matter expert on curated datasets used across multiple projects.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the firm’s data infrastructure, tools, and methodologies.
Essential Skills and Experience
1–4 years’ experience in data engineering or data analysis, with hands-on expertise in SQL and Python.
Practical experience automating data workflows using Python, SQL, Bash, or similar tools.
Experience preparing and transforming data for statistical or machine learning models.
Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS (S3, EC2, Redshift), Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Databricks, Snowflake, or Qubole.
Knowledge of ETL pipelines, data scheduling, and automation tools such as Apache Airflow, AWS Glue, DBT, or Alteryx.
Strong analytical and commercial problem-solving skills, with a passion for turning complex datasets into meaningful insight.
Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills.
Desirable Skills
Experience managing ETLs on relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, Oracle SQL).
Familiarity with Apache Spark.
Experience using business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or Qlik.
Knowledge of geospatial data management and analysis.
Education and Background
Degree in related technical discipline (or equivalent professional experience)
Consulting experience within a data-focused/analytics environment is desirable
Master's degree is favourable but not essential
