Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineering Technician to join our dynamic team in a full-time capacity. In this role, you will be responsible for creating detailed electrical schematics and layouts for crane and hoist systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out inspections, testing, and maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment used in overhead cranes and hoists.
Assist in the installation and commissioning of control systems, cabling, and power distribution for lifting equipment.
Diagnose faults and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical breakdowns to minimise downtime.
Calibrate, adjust, and replace components to ensure equipment operates within performance and safety standards.
Collect data and record job results, preparing clear technical reports and documentation for internal use and client review.
Support Senior Technicians/Engineers in developing modifications or upgrades to improve crane reliability and performance.
Ensure all tasks are conducted in line with company safety procedures and statutory requirements.
Liaise with suppliers and contractors to source parts, materials, and technical information when required.
Assist in preparing cost estimates and recommendations for repairs or system improvements.
Provide guidance and on-the-job support to apprentices and technicians under supervision.
Qualifications \& Skills:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in electrical drafting, preferably within the crane or lifting equipment industry.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant drafting software.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems and Australian electrical codes.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in drafting.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
