Salary/Rate: £30-35k/annum - full time (or pro rata thereof)

(Adjusted to match the experience of the successful candidate)

Employment Type: Full time Monday-Friday (Flexible – 6:30am to 3:00pm, 10am to 6:30pm, 1pm to 9:30pm)Location: Orpington, Southeast London (hybrid applicants considered)

(Our office has a smart casual dress code – suits are not a requirement. Formal attire is required for client meetings – you will be advised by your manager on appropriate wear)

Education/Experience:

Any one of the following:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or relevant discipline.

IT Diploma.

A Level (Or equivalent).

1 – 2 Years of experience in data handling in SQL Server or related role.

The Role

You will work directly in our VP of Technology’s team to support and continue the implementation of our products for our clients. This will require a base level knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) and Microsoft SQL Server databases, as well as excellent communication skills and person to person interaction. Training and assistance will be available per requirement. The role will commence in a junior position, with the opportunity for mentoring by our Data \& SQL Engineer to help you engage with our software and the role. The role can expand to allow the successful candidate to expand into other areas to help support both personal and professional development.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

Transformation of data out of source systems to sit in destination systems using MS SQL Server (and other tools as required)

Building and maintaining efficient methods of assessing data integrity and quality, utilising these in migration activity

Building, managing and supporting efficient processes for data feed integrations from and to internal and client systems

Reporting results of migration assessment work, with applied context for the receiving audience.

Support continued product development by completing SQL based components of DevOps tickets.

Supporting \& advising Web Team on capabilities of SQL databases and maintaining best practices

Advising Technology Team on and actively implementing areas of improvement/change that improve efficiency/integrity/speed of data migration and reporting processes

Act on and advise on support requests requiring SQL changes and or data manipulation

Conduct background reviews of client systems to ensure good system performance, focusing on data integrity and validity

Documentation/templating of configuration materials for reuse

Configuration, monitoring and triaging issues with integrations to and from client systems

Required Skills

Ability to work with SQL, covering stored procedures, functions, views, tables, indexes etc., preferably using Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Management Studio.

Awareness of developing in ASP.NET ASP.NET, C# and JavaScript, with reference to how these can interface with databases.

Ability to use SQL and other methods for effective issue triage and resolution.

Ability to effectively log/track work completed, writing up solutions for common tasks/issue resolutions.

Ability to provide Remote support for on premise and cloud hosted systems.

A high standard of written and verbal communication.

An excellent telephone manner with good personal skills.

Able to prioritise workloads and deal with changing priorities.

Self-motivated with a “can-do” approach

Desired Skills

Ability to effectively copy/migrate data between two databases using appropriate logic to match data to correct columns, including documenting the mapping between systems.

Ability to effectively load data into a SQL database from other sources, such as Excel, without data loss or alteration.

Experience working in a dynamic IT team.

Ability to coherently discuss and resolve complex issues using all available technology and support.

Background knowledge of IT projects and processes.
