Job Description CORE FUNCTION

Aiming at developing Phileo products sales in APA region in all Swine segments, provides support to local sales and technical teams and Phileo distributors through technical training, implements conviction trials, participates to new applications \& product project, via close collaboration with concerned Phileo APA sub-region Managers, Swine Animal Technical Centre (ATC) team members and R\&D department.

Thanks to his/her knowledge in Swine business chain, will actively contribute to the definition and implementation of Phileo Swine strategy and be actively contributing to Global Swine ATC team support and projects.

Core Safety Roles \& Responsibilities

Comply with local governmental HSE regulations, with Lesaffre fundamental principles and apply the safety Policy,

Participate in entity safety activities and always show best examples (Rules application, PPE wearing, perform safety visits, accident analysis, safety committees…),

Participate actively in the risk assessment of own’s job area

Follow the safety action plan of own perimeter,

Make safety rules in your perimeter, communicate it, make sure your team understands and applies them,

Start all meetings (from 8 persons minimum) by a safety contact,

Encourage safe acts and discourage each time you see unsafe acts,

Report unsafe conditions / acts and near misses to the managers,

Report within 12 hours all recordable accidents to the next level of management,

Report each month all recordable accidents and first aids happened in your perimeter,

Participate in the target-setting process for the safety KPIs,

Be a part of recognition \& sanction program.

HSE roles and responsibilities for Sales \& Marketing

Respect company rule regarding travel safety,

Apply our safety rules over and above those of our customers if there are no similar rules (safety shoes, goggles, etc.),

Apply and respect safe driving rules,

Make sure all gift or external communication supports are online with “safety spirit” (good for health, safe, environmentally friendly).

DUTIES

Support to commercial teams

Organizes technical trainings, for Phileo staff, distributors and customers, and makes the necessary preparations;

Assists technical \& sales teams in gaining new business and maintaining existing clients by effective application of our products; mostly through physical and online client meetings.

Contributes to the management of selected key accounts by customizing technical services and by providing technical support, and in coordination with Swine Technical leader;

Orchestrate field evaluations of products, projects and services linked to Swine;

Contributes to the preparation of articles, newsletter and technical documents in equation with Phileo APA region specific needs, to help products promotion, through close collaboration with Phileo Technical leader and Marketing team;

Contributes to organizing regional specific swine events, such as symposiums or seminars, in liaison with Phileo APA Sub-Region Manager, Swine Technical Leader, and Marketing \& Communication department. Propose speaker line up, program, guest list and venue, coordinate associated marketing efforts, monitor budget.

Involvement and speaking at industry, distributor or customer meetings is a part of the necessary networking.

Technical services to customers

Responsible for supplying technical support to all new, existing, and potential accounts to improve customer relationships and grow Phileo business

Corrects application problems that arise and provides technical service to distributors, customers, and other technical representatives in person and online or by telephone. Ensures customer satisfaction along with sales team.

Communicates technical information through sales meetings or technical service reports;

Conducts customer-needs assessments and gathers requirements for key accounts with the most significant business impact by visiting those key accounts and other sources of information;

Proposes conviction trials that meet customer practice and anticipate competition, supports local team in the implementation and follow-up of these trials.

Makes sure to maintain updated knowledge of processes or ingredient changes in the livestock feed and production industries is compulsory.

Contribution to product portfolio management

Participates in the construction of competitive product range and innovation programs considering market data, key opinion leaders’ advices, technical evidences established via field trials and scientific data collected;

Proposes, follows and adapts innovation programs and products in close collaboration with Phileo Swine Technical leader, R\&D team, sub-region managers and sales team;

Support R\&D team in the implementation and follow-up of R\&D trials that answer market needs and anticipate competition;

Coordinates projects related to generating new swine data in APA region;

Manages and develops a network of key opinion leaders so to identify potential innovations that could fit with market analysis led by Phileo Technical Swine leaders.

Contribution to market analysis and strategy

Follow-up market innovations and product positioning of competing companies on the expertise domain so to identify emerging trends and market needs;

Identifies market needs, opportunities and key success factors;

Gather and share market data and trends (head, yield, price, feed production…)

Provides strategic direction related to customer segmentation by balancing customer needs and resource constraints and assessing potential value creation and optimization.

Contributes to the implementation of the Swine strategy with commercial teams.

Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Agricultural engineer, veterinarian specialized or PhD in the Swine domain with nutrition background.

Minimal practical experience of 10 years is required.

Must possess a strong working knowledge of Swine nutrition, production systems and/or diseases issues and be able to apply this knowledge to make the proper analyses, decisions and objective recommendations on the use of our products in the field, analyse livestock diet and production issues, explain and demonstrate products, make objective recommendations to correct problems while maintaining awareness of customers’ needs, concerns and quality expectations. Excellent analytical skills are required to solve certain technical problems for major customers.

REQUIRED SKILLS

The position requires the ability to influence through indirect leadership, be a strong and diplomatic communicant, adaptable, open minded and creative. Commercial and marketing mindset. Thorough understanding of probability \& statistics and ability to use statistical programs is a plus.

English is essential; any other language is a plus.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

International travels requiring at least 50% of the time. Normal hazards and conditions consistent with such travel. Weekend and early/late working hours may be required.

Intermittent exposure to noise, odours and temperature extremes in feed manufacturing and livestock production facilities.

May have some project requiring traveling in another region for exhibition, meeting or cross region support.

The primary focus and required expertise of the job is in swine. However, the position may also involve providing occasional technical support and services, such as feed formulation, for other species such as poultry.
