Develops, codes, tests, debugs and supports HL7 or other standards-based integration interfaces or enhancements to existing interfaces supported by the hospital, the city and the region. Also develops, codes, tests, debugs and supports other software and tools such as CCL Reporting, Data Extracts, mPages, PM Rules, EKM Rules, LREPS, WebDR, using Java, Visual Basic and other proprietary programming platforms.

The Software Developer will provide operational support to maintain service on current interfaces and software by working with other team members and customers to troubleshoot and resolve production problems. They may also be involved in design, development, evaluation and implementation of interfaces and software used throughout the hospitals.

It is important to note that the clinical ITS teams provide support to multiple hospital clients not just London Health Sciences Centre. As such, team members in clinical ITS are required to navigate diverse corporate strategies and end user needs on a daily basis.

Temporary Full-time

Duration: Until January 2027

Rate of Pay: $39.96 per hour - $49.94 per hour

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week

Qualifications

Successful completion of a two-year certificate or diploma in Computer Science or related field

Certification in any of the mentioned languages or standards

One (1) to three (3) years' relevant experience

Excellent technical and programming skills

Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills

Understand relational databases

Oracle, MySQL, Sybase, MS*SQL, PostGres , and MS Access

Programming Languages: Java, Perl, PHP, JSP, SQL, C/C++, Oracle Cerner CCL, Visual Basic

Data Transport and Markup: HTML, CSS, HL7, X12, XML, CSV

Productivity Tools: MS Project, MS Access, MS Excel, MS Word, Visio

Operating Systems: Unix, Linux, Windows

Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills

Strong testing methodology

Ability to balance multiple and competing priorities

Strong attention to detail

Flexible, adaptable and able to manage change

Commitment to superior customer service

Understanding of technology and how it can be applied in a clinical or business environment

Works well under pressure

Overtime and possible 24 hour on call coverage may be required

Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care

Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
