About the role:

We are looking for an AI Engineer / Data Scientist to integrate into our AI \& Tech Accelerator. You will engineer and deploy scalable solutions using advanced Machine Learning, GenAI, and emerging Agentic AI workflows. Your mission will be to analyze and solve complex strategic and operational challenges across the L’Oréal Americas market, leveraging data-driven models to drive innovation and business value across various domains.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will sit at the intersection of innovation and implementation, driving the adoption of cutting-edge AI across L’Oréal.

Develop \& Deploy Advanced AI Solutions: Design and implement state-of-the-art models using Machine Learning and Large Language Models (LLMs) to solve complex business problems. You will also explore and implement Agentic AI patterns to create autonomous workflows that enhance decision-making and efficiency.

Innovate with Generative AI: Lead research and deployment initiatives for novel applications of Generative AI, including diffusion models and multi-agent systems, ensuring we stay ahead of the technology curve in automating complex tasks.

Drive Cross-Business Impact: Create scalable AI solutions for a diverse range of use cases across multiple L’Oréal brands and business units, addressing needs in marketing, supply chain, retail, and operations and much more.

Collaborate \& Co-Create: Work closely with cross-functional agile teams—including Data Engineers, UX/UI Designers, Full-Stack Developers, and DevOps Engineers—to integrate AI models into production-ready products.

Act as a Technical Advisor: Partner with business stakeholders to assess the feasibility of new AI use cases, translating technical possibilities into business strategy.

Knowledge Sharing: Animate the internal Data Science community by sharing best practices, mentoring peers, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.

What we are looking for:

We are seeking a curious, collaborative innovator who thrives in a dynamic environment. You should value autonomy, team spirit, and the desire to make a tangible business impact.

Education \& Experience:

Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field.

Proven real-world experience (1+ years) coding and deploying AI/ML models (internships, co-ops, or full-time roles).

Technical Expertise:

Core AI/ML: Strong foundation in Machine Learning and Deep Learning with proficiency in the Data Science ecosystem (pandas, numpy, scipy, sklearn, tensorflow, etc.).

Programming \& Engineering: Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL, with a solid grasp of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and software engineering best practices.

Generative \& Agentic AI: Deep understanding of Large Language Models (GPT, Claude, Llama, Gemini) and Diffusion Models. Familiarity with building agentic workflows (e.g., using LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen) or chaining LLMs for complex reasoning tasks is highly desirable.

DevOps \& MLOps: Familiarity with development tools (Git, Docker, Terraform), CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, CircleCI), and MLOps platforms (Vertex AI, MLflow, DVC).

Cloud Platforms: Experience working within cloud environments, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Databricks.

Adaptability: You may not be an expert in every single tool listed above, but you possess the drive to learn quickly and innovate.
