Company Description
Lucidy is a specialized consultancy at the forefront of software optimization for AI inference and high-performance computing (HPC). Originating as a global network connecting international clients with top remote talent, Lucidy now delivers hands-on, expert services. The company focuses on optimizing AI/ML models, accelerating HPC software, and modernizing legacy codebases. With deep technical expertise and a pragmatic approach, Lucidy transforms complex systems into efficient, scalable, and production-ready solutions.
Founding Engineer / Founding Partner (Fractional, No-Pressure) š
Iām starting Lucidy, a small, high-end consultancy focused on AI, ML, and performance-critical systems. The idea is simple: do fewer projects, do them really well, and work with people who care deeply about engineering craft.
A bit of context first š
Iām currently fully employed, but because of my role, I do a lot of networking. Every now and then, interesting short-term consulting opportunities come my way, often exciting, often well-paid, but sometimes too large or too far outside my exact focus to take on alone. Thatās why I want to properly kickstart Lucidy: so those opportunities donāt go to waste next time.
This is not a full-time role. There are no obligations on either side. Iām looking for one or a few people in a similar situation, ideally based in the Netherlands or Europe, who like the idea of slowly building something real together š§±
About myself
Iām mainly an AI performance engineer, focused on ML inferencing (latency, throughput, cost, hardware-aware optimization). That said, Iām very open when it comes to specializations.
What Iām actually looking for š¤
Think of this less as āhiringā and more as forming a founding bench.
Someone who:
Is already employed or otherwise stable
Occasionally has the bandwidth for interesting, well-scoped projects
Enjoys high-impact technical work without corporate overhead
Is curious about eventually turning this into something bigger
Iām especially interested in people working in or around:
AI / ML engineering (research ā production)
AI research engineering š§
MLOps, deployment, reliability
HPC / distributed systems
GPGPU, CUDA, ROCm, kernel-level work
Systems engineering (Linux, networking, low-level performance)
Web/backend engineering (when projects need product-grade delivery)
If your work touches ML in any serious way, chances are weāll get along.
How collaboration \& money works šø (no weirdness)
If I pass you a lead thatās outside my expertise or capacity and you take it on:
90% goes to you
10% goes to me to handle admin, contracts, invoicing, legal basics, etc.
If we work on a project together, weāll agree on a fair split upfront, based on contribution and responsibility. No surprises, no awkward conversations later.
Also important:
Iām more than happy to share leads I come across that are simply not my thing, even if Iām not involved beyond making the introduction.
What this is not š«
Just to be very clear:
Not a full-time job
Not a retainer
Not an on-call role
No minimum hours
No long-term commitment required
If nothing comes in for a while, thatās fine. If something interesting does come in and youāre available, great.
The longer-term vision š±
If Lucidy grows a solid customer base, the intention is to go full-time together with the founding engineers and build a proper consultancy around trust, technical depth, and sane work.
No VC nonsense. No artificial scaling. Just good work with good people.
If this resonates āØ
Send me a short message with:
Who you are and where youāre based
What youāre strongest at (2ā3 domains)
The kind of projects you do and donāt enjoy
How youād like to be involved (hands-on, lead, occasional help, etc.)
