About the Role
As Port Engineer, you'll play a key role in keeping LPC's infrastructure performing at its best. You'll take the lead on pavement condition assessments across all sites, ensuring our assets are safe, reliable, and well-maintained. From coordinating contractors to supporting pavement repair programmes, you'll be hands-on in both planning and delivery.
Your work will also extend beyond the ground, using drones and survey tools to capture and process data that supports inspections, engineering projects, and our GIS systems. You'll contribute to asset inspections (including marine structures), assist in hydrographic survey reviews, and provide technical support across a wide variety of projects.
This is a role for someone who enjoys variety - blending fieldwork with analysis, coordination, and continuous improvement. Everything you do will support the wider LPC strategy and reflect our commitment to safety, collaboration, and innovation.
About You
You're a qualified civil engineer who enjoys a mix of fieldwork and technical problem solving. You're organised, practical, and take pride in delivering high-quality work that contributes to safe, efficient, and well-managed infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will bring:
A civil engineering degree and 3+ years' experience in infrastructure or pavement engineering
Strong planning, coordination, and communication skills
A structured yet flexible approach to problem solving
Experience in asset inspection, condition assessment, or project delivery
Familiarity with tools such as ArcGIS, AutoCAD, or Trimble
A current drone licence (Part 101) and confidence operating survey equipment (desirable)
A proactive mindset with a genuine enthusiasm for working outdoors and getting involved on-site
