Purpose:

Operational excellence is one of the four core strategic pillars of APM Terminals’ long-term strategy: “This is our platform for current and new terminals, where all value streams are standard, scalable, and replicable from acquisition, to construction, integration and all the way down to running a terminal”. Implementing, optimizing and scaling Operations Technology will play a pivotal role in achieving our strategic goals, ranging from initiatives like implementing complex brownfield automation at fast pace to optimize manhours per move or efforts to optimize running-hours per move by deploying asset digitization in our more conventional terminals. To be successful, our terminals need to be supported by a focused,

aligned and agile global team that adds value by Subject Matter Expertise, standardization and agile decision making. As part of the Asset Digitization (AD) Solutions team within the Process Automation (Operations Technology) function, the Assets \& Industrial Connectivity Engineer plays a key role in enabling the physical connection of assets to our digital platform. The engineer assesses each asset type and determines the most effective connectivity method, based on business needs and infrastructure constraints. If a suitable solution does not exist, the engineer collaborates with AD and PA Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify or develop one. This role is also responsible for creating comprehensive technical (hardware)

documentation, from installation guides to testing templates, to ensure deployments are repeatable and high quality. Additionally, the engineer supports terminal standardization efforts, performs signal mapping, contributes to a consistent data strategy, and assists to the team across a wide range of activities. Focus areas/main deliverables: Select and define the most effective connectivity approach for each asset. Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and installation standards. Propose and support the standardization of solutions across terminals. Execute roadmaps, prepare documentation and provide technical support. Test and implement AD products in close collaboration with AD Subject

Matter Experts, ensuring alignment with core AD strategic principles: SCADA empowerment, strong digital foundations, modularity, scalability, agility, and cost-effectiveness.

Configuration of hardware devices to enable data flow.

Transfer knowledge and conduct training for terminal staff.

Define User Define Templates per equipment type (QCs, RTGs, TTs, RMGs, SCs, reefer containers, among others)

Ensure all relevant signals are classified according to User Defined Templates per equipment type, with proper documentation

Communicate and coordinate signal mapping tasks and activities with OEMs.

Once a terminal meets the prerequisites and connects the assets, it must ensure that the defined signals are available and accessible within the Ignition platform (commissioning and testing).

Install or retrofit hardware and sensors to enable new signals, in alignment with the User Defined Template.

Supervise and support the deployment of AD solutions across terminals in the portfolio, collaborating with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, and OEMs.
