Position: Manufacturing Operations Coordinator (Materials \& Laser Programming)
Reports to: Materials Manager
Location: 2485 Speers Road, Oakville
Summary
Mancor Industries is a world class precision manufacturer of metal components and sub-assemblies that use metal cutting, forming, machining, welding, assembly and paint. We use state-of-the-art machining and fabrication techniques in a lean, self-directed work team manufacturing environment to produce high value-added, cost-effective products for our strategic partners.
We are currently seeking a Materials Coordinator and Laser Nester to add to our growing team. Reporting to the Materials Manager, this position is responsible for laser nesting and other assigned Materials activities as part of the Materials Team.
Responsibilities
Laser Nesting \& Production Support
· Create and optimize laser nesting programs for plate and sheet material to maximize material utilization and minimize scrap.
· Prepare, release, and prioritize laser work orders in alignment with production schedules and due dates.
· Verify part revisions, quantities, and material requirements prior to release.
· Coordinate with laser operators to address program changes, material substitutions, or scheduling conflicts.
· Maintain nesting files, part libraries, and cutting documentation.
· Manage raw material inventory levels, including plate, sheet, and remnants.
Purchasing, Planning \& Scheduling Support
· Schedule the purchase of raw materials to align availability with production demand.
· Monitor material shortages and proactively communicate risks or delays.
· Assist with short-term scheduling adjustments to support changing priorities.
· Release all general work orders
Materials Coordination
· Receive, inspect, and record incoming raw material deliveries.
· Manage material inventory levels, including raw material, WIP, and finished goods.
· Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventories.
· Ensure accurate inventory transactions in the ERP/MRP system.
General Responsibilities
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company safety policies.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives related to material flow, nesting efficiency, and inventory accuracy.
· Perform other duties assigned to support manufacturing operations.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or manufacturing education preferred.
· 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, materials planning, or laser cutting operations.
· PC Literacy (spreadsheet or database software such as Excel, Access, QAD)
· Experience with laser nesting software (e.g., SigmaNEST, TruTops, BySoft, PEP, etc) or CAD/CAM software.
· Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems for work order release and inventory control.
· Strong organizational and time-management skills.
· High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Skills
· Experience working with steel, aluminum, and stainless plate materials.
· Understanding of CNC laser cutting processes and material yield optimization.
· Lean manufacturing experience.
Salary and Benefits
· Wage: CAD 25/ hr – CAD 30/ hr (negotiable Depending on Experience)
