Position Overview

We’re hiring a Full-Time In-House Developer who loves crafting beautiful, high-performing websites and digital experiences. You’ll team up with our design and marketing folks to bring bold ideas to life, support ongoing work, and help local businesses succeed online.

Key Responsibilities:

Custom Website Development

Build and maintain custom WordPress sites that actually fit what clients need.

Develop mobile-first, responsive layouts using HTML5, CSS3, JS, and frameworks like Bootstrap or Tailwind.

Turn mockups and prototypes into high-performance, client-ready sites.

Front-End Development

Nail the user experience with intuitive navigation, accessibility, and sleek interactivity.

Use JavaScript frameworks/libraries like jQuery, React, or Vue.js when it makes sense.

Deliver pixel-perfect design execution across devices and browsers.

Write clean, modular CSS (Sass or Less) for scalable styles.

Back-End Development

Customize themes and plugins for WordPress like a pro.

Extend functionality with PHP.

Optimize MySQL and work with REST APIs.

Tackle server-side bugs and configure site functions as needed.

SEO \& Performance Optimization

Apply solid on-page SEO: titles, metas, schema, structured data.

Set up and fine-tune plugins like Yoast or Rank Math.

Boost site speed with caching, compression, minified files, and CDNs.

Use tools like Google PageSpeed, GTmetrix, and Lighthouse to track and improve.

Website Security

Follow WordPress security best practices — keep sites locked down.

Use secure coding techniques (input validation, output escaping, etc.).

Manage file permissions and server settings like a boss.

Install and maintain tools like Wordfence or Sucuri.

Run regular scans and audits to stay a step ahead.

Analytics \& Tracking Implementation

Configure Facebook Pixel, GA4, and other trackers manually or via GTM.

Set up events, goals, and conversion tracking.

Troubleshoot and verify data flow across platforms (Meta Ads, GA4, GTM).

Version Control \& Documentation

Use Git and platforms like GitHub/GitLab for versioning and collaboration.

Keep documentation clean and up-to-date for custom builds and plugins.

Maintenance \& Troubleshooting

Monitor client sites for issues and uptime.

Debug front/back-end problems fast.

Update core files, themes, and plugins via staging environments.

Cross-Team Collaboration

Work with marketing strategists to align dev work with campaign goals.

Sync with designers to ensure their vision hits the web exactly.

Communicate clearly and consistently with account managers on progress, roadblocks, and timelines.

Required Technical Skills:

WordPress Expertise

Deep understanding of core WordPress architecture.

Confident building custom themes/plugins and working with WP APIs, hooks, filters.

Comfortable in both Gutenberg and Classic Editor.

Front-End Skills

Solid in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript.

Strong mobile-first/responsive development skills.

Familiar with React, Vue.js, or jQuery.

Experience with Sass or Less.

Back-End Skills

Confident in PHP and MySQL.

Familiar with REST APIs and dynamic content.

Able to optimize server-side performance.

Security \& Compliance

Know how to secure WordPress from common vulnerabilities.

Experience with firewalls and plugins like Wordfence/Sucuri.

Familiar with brute force prevention, login limits, and audit logs.

SEO Integration

Able to implement strong technical/on-page SEO.

Experienced with plugins (Yoast, Rank Math, etc).

Can fix schema/indexing issues when they pop up.

Analytics \& Tracking

Hands-on with GA4, GTM, and Facebook Pixel installs.

Understand cookie consent tools and privacy compliance.

Elementor Proficiency

Know your way around dynamic content, global styles, widgets, and conditional logic.

Build sleek, responsive sites in Elementor.

Soft Skills \& Professional Traits

Bonus Experience (Nice to Have)

WooCommerce setup/customization/performance.

Hosting platforms (SiteGround, A2, WP Engine, Flywheel).

Server admin basics: staging, SSL, .htaccess.

Project management tools (ClickUp, Asana, Trello).

Google Analytics Certification.

HTML/CSS/JS/PHP certifications.

Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Preferred Education

Bachelor’s or Associate’s in:

Web Development

Software Engineering

Computer Science

Information Technology

...or coding bootcamp/certification equivalent.
