A well known kiwi brand (You'll know the ads!) that has been a leader in the fintech space for some time is on the look out for their next Senior Fullstack Developer.
This is a role that won't just be about bringing your technology skills to the table, but bringing your whole self to work. When a company needs to send you a full page document to describe their benefits package, you know it's an organization that cares for their people.
About the role
This organization has a number of roles popping up all across their tech stack, from C#, to Python, to Typescript/React. This role touches all of them, but that doesn't mean you'll need 10+ years experience in each. Bringing your own skills to the table and willing to learn on the fly is much more important.
The role will be working on a diverse range of fintech products, from the first line of code all the way to launch. Being able to take ownership, do the right thing at the right time, and be a positive team member who pitches in whenever they can is super important.
What you will bring
You'll be someone who has experience in C# or Python (Or both!), preferably in a SAAS, Startup, or Fintech environment. You won't have silo'd yourself in your career and are always looking to learn and upskill as you go.
This role does really cut across the software development spectrum, so even if the front end isn't your speciality, you'll know a teeny tiny bit of React/Typescript. Maybe you'll have deployed an environment or two using Terraform. Or maybe you've jumped in to Cloudwatch logs furiously using ChatGPT to make sense of what's going on.
The ideal candidate will have a great attitude and never say "that's not my job".
You will need all/most/able-to-fake-it of :
Experience building web applications with C# or Python (Or both). If you are a C# developer who doesn't mind ditching your curly braces for tabs to try a bit of Python every now and again, that's even better.
Experience building modern frontends using React. Knowing your React Router from your Tanstack Router from your NextJS Router would be handy too!
The basics of modern web development and design for mobile first. e.x. You only need to lookup that flexbox cheatsheet once a day instead of every hour (align-items vs justify-items, gah!)
Solid understanding of database fundamentals. Schema design, query tuning, performance etc.
And some/none-but-willing-to-learn of :
Any experience in the financial and or investing sector would be advantageous.
Experience creating and managing infrastructure in AWS utilizing Terraform (Or another cloud/IaC, it's all transferable!)
Any experience with containers, from Docker to AWS ECS to Kubernettes, would be helpful.
Additional information
This role is based in Auckland CBD. The role is not fully remote, but is very much onboard with flexible working arrangements.
The role is only open to candidates with existing working rights within NZ.
