Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail\-oriented
Junior Security Analyst
to join our Information Security team in a
hybrid role
based in Overland Park, Kansas. In this position, you will help safeguard our systems, data, and users by supporting daily security operations, monitoring threats, and contributing to our overall cybersecurity posture.

Key Responsibilities
Continuously monitor security alerts and events generated by SIEMs and other security tools; triage and escalate as needed.
Assist in investigating and remediating security incidents, ensuring timely resolution and accurate documentation.
Conduct regular vulnerability scans, support tracking, and follow\-up on remediation efforts with relevant teams.
Participate in periodic risk assessments, internal/external audits, and compliance\-related activities.
Help maintain, configure, and administer security tools and technologies (e.g., endpoint protection, email security, vulnerability scanners).
Support security awareness initiatives, including phishing simulations, training campaigns, and user education efforts.
Create and maintain clear and detailed documentation of procedures, incidents, investigations, and system configurations.
Collaborate closely with IT and other departments to promote and enforce security best practices across the organization.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in
Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology
, or a related field.
2–3 years of experience in a
cybersecurity, information security, or IT security\-focused role
.
Familiarity with key areas of security operations, such as:
Endpoint protection and monitoring.
Vulnerability management and remediation.
Security event monitoring and alert triage.
Solid understanding of core networking concepts, including basic network protocols, access controls, firewalls, and authentication mechanisms.
Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to document findings clearly and professionally.
Comfortable working independently while also contributing effectively to a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Experience
Exposure to
cloud security concepts
and platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure).
Experience supporting
compliance efforts
or familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001, etc.
Familiarity with ticketing systems, change management processes, and IT service workflows.
Hands\-on experience with security tools and technologies, including but not limited to:

(endpoint protection)

Qualys

Abnormal Security
(email security)
Other security monitoring or administrative tools.
