What can you expect?
Marsh Tech is the IT organization delivering innovative technology solutions for Marsh, as part of the broader MMC Tech team. We are seeking a FinOps specialist to lead the next stage of our FinOps transformation and drive strategic alignment and operational excellence in cloud financial management. This role will be located in the Marsh McLennan Innovation Centre in Dublin and is critical in shaping how Marsh manages cloud investments, optimizes costs and delivers value across the enterprise.
As FinOps Specialist, you will collaborate closely with IT leaders, technology product owners, finance and business partners to define and execute a cloud financial strategy that supports Marsh’s broader organizational goals. You will build a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement in cloud cost management, ensuring that technology investments align with business priorities and deliver measurable outcomes.
We will count on you to:
Grow a high-performing FinOps function responsible for cloud cost forecasting, budgeting and reporting across Marsh’s cloud portfolio.
Define and implement cloud financial management frameworks, policies and best practices that drive a cost-conscious mindset, cost efficiency and business value.
Partner with the MMC Cloud Business Office, IT Directors, Technology Product Managers (TPMs) and Finance team to align cloud investments with strategic priorities.
Oversee cloud resource management, including Configuration Management Database (CMDB) accuracy, right-sizing initiatives, and reservation/savings plan optimization.
Drive adoption of FinOps tools and reporting platforms to provide actionable insights and transparent reporting to stakeholders.
Be a FinOps Subject Matter Expert, partnering with cloud architects and engineering teams, guiding design and tactical cost savings.
What you need to have:
Proven experience running FinOps or cloud financial management functions in complex, global organizations.
Deep understanding of cloud technologies, especially AWS and Azure, and cloud cost optimization strategies.
Expertise in budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting for cloud environments.
Experience with FinOps tools such as Densify, FinOut, AWS cost explorer and cloud scheduling platforms.
Analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize complex data and present clear insights.
Technical Acumen to collaborate with architects and engineers.
Working knowledge of key technologies such as Kubernetes, Serverless, and Cloud Native tools.

Certifications in FinOps and/or cloud platforms, or project management (e.g., PMP, Agile).
Experience and working knowledge of cloud architectures, services, and application design patterns that drive costs. Knowledge of cost levers such as Reserved Instances and Savings Plans.
