The Role
We are seeking multiple experienced and dedicated IT Support Engineers to provide high-priority, on-site Remedial Support Services across numerous public sector offices in Hong Kong. This is a field-based role that requires frequent travel to different sites daily based on service requests. This critical role involves diagnosing and rapidly resolving hardware, software, and network issues to ensure the smooth, day-to-day operation of a large-scale network serving thousands of staff members.
️ Key Responsibilities and Duties
On-site Remedial Support \& Travel: Provide rapid, effective on-site diagnosis, troubleshooting, and rectification for daily IT-related problems (PC, network, software) across all assigned offices. This involves travelling to multiple sites daily to meet strict service level requirements.
Service Level Adherence: Respond to requests and attend to sites promptly to meet stringent service pledges (e.g., Critical failures attended on-site in Zone 1 within 1 hour, Major failures within 2 hours).
System and Software Management: Perform installation, customization, and configuration of hardware and software, including Microsoft Windows 10 and MS Office . Apply necessary software patches and upgrades to PCs.
Network and LAN Support: Troubleshoot common network connectivity issues, conduct connectivity and bandwidth tests (e.g., using iPerf), and provide support for Internet WiFi connection .
Email and Applications: Provide dedicated support for the departmental mail system ( Lotus Notes mail system and confidential mail system ) and e-Government applications.
Mobility Support: Configure and troubleshoot mobile devices (iPad, iPhone, Android smart phone/tablet) and related encryption tools.
Coordination and Ad-hoc Tasks: Interact with and follow up with hardware/software vendors and other contractors until case completion. Perform ad-hoc tasks upon request.
Essential Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum of four (4) years of full-time IT experience in a relevant function/speciality.
At least two (2) years of solid job experience in PC and LAN support .
Technical Knowledge: Must have relevant experience in supporting and administering the public sector mail system ( Lotus Notes ) and standard OA software (Windows 10/MS Office).
Language Proficiency: Must be able to read and write Traditional Chinese and English , and speak Cantonese and English fluently .
Advantageous Qualifications: Possession of certifications such as CCNA, MCTS, MCSA, MCITP, MCSE, MOS , or Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate is a great advantage in this role .
