Services within Mastercard is responsible for acquiring, engaging, and retaining customers by managing fraud and risk, enhancing cybersecurity, and improving the digital payments experience. We provide value-added services and leverage expertise, data-driven insights, and execution.
Overview
Fraud and chargebacks disrupt the entire payments ecosystem, driving both card issuers and merchants to focus on resolving disputes instead of increasing card acceptance and revenue. Ethoca changes the dialogue, creating a rich environment for issuers and merchants to engage cardholders post-transaction, reducing frustration and driving repeat spend. The Director, Product Management will help define and lead the business strategy and implementation for the product portfolio. This includes comprehensive competitive analysis, pricing evaluation, and a deep understanding of market readiness considerations. In this role, you will work closely with product, customer delivery, marketing, and sales leadership worldwide to define requirements, KPIs and success criteria, and help guide business architecture and go-to-market execution. This position reports to the Vice President of Product.
About The Role:
Lead the rapid evolution of business and competitive strategy, and ensure that our rich value proposition is fully delivered
Take a data-driven approach to competitive analysis, pricing evaluation, and regional market needs, identifying areas of opportunity and contributing to the product roadmap, while prioritizing work to deliver against key areas of focus
Leverage data \& dashboards to quickly identify business performance challenges, making recommendations on proposed action plans
Define measures, KPIs, and success criteria to ensure appropriate monitoring and progress for business health
Establish and maintain strong two-way communication with our go-to-market teams, partners, and customers
Monitor and assess risk of both existing and emerging competitive solutions, seeking to differentiate core capabilities, features, and functions to ensure consistent competitive advantage in the marketplace
Develop clear, convincing, and data-driven business cases for significant new growth investments
Incorporate an understanding of the broader payments ecosystem into ongoing product management (e.g. regulatory, legal, technology, competitive, technology environment etc.)
All About You:
Prior experience with, and a deep understanding of, defining business strategy is required – prior experience in a business consulting or related role is a bonus
Experience in the Payments, Card Fraud, Ecommerce, or Financial Services space is desired – strong understanding of 1-to-many Payment Partnership landscape is a bonus
Experience with the development of long-range and strategic plans, as well as the identification of organizational strengths, weaknesses, and business opportunities
Ability to hit the ground running, adapt quickly and take an action-oriented, roll-up-your-sleeves approach to execution that focuses on measurable results
Strategic, analytical, and systematic thinker who consistently drives continuous improvement
Experience with Data Analysis tools and techniques, and in analysis of operational data to support business decisions
Applying expertise of principles, theories, and concepts, plus broad knowledge of business/function and development life cycle
Broad technical knowledge
Strong verbal and written communication skills
