The Customer Experience Architecture (CXA) organization leads the design of our AI-enabled integrated Customer Success and Support motions across CE\&S and drives the implementation requirements across end-to-end customer experience architectures, improving the quality and experience KPIs across CE\&S.

The CE\&S Business Intelligence (BI) Team is responsible for delivering data-driven decision-making and self-serve analytics to optimize customer experience and support operations across Microsoft's assisted and self-service support surfaces. We build and manage data platforms and data flows, oversee data and measurement governance, develop Machine Learning (ML) models, manage support-critical data tools, and provide both core and business-specific analytics resources and guidance.

We are seeking a goal-driven Data Engineer with extensive experience in delivering data-driven decision making \& self-serve analytics to optimize customer experience and support operations across Microsoft’s assisted and self-service support surfaces. In this role, you will lead and collaborate closely with high-impact data analysts and strategic customers to solve complex problems. You will communicate trends and innovative solutions to stakeholders and work cross-functionally with engineering teams, product teams, and program management to deploy business solutions.

Responsibilities* Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Spark.

Develop optimized ETL/ELT workflows for large-scale data ingestion and transformation.

Implement CI/CD for data solutions, automated testing, and monitoring for data quality and reliability.

Collaborate with data scientists and product teams to deliver integrated analytics and ML solutions.

Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy standards across all data assets.

Qualifications Required/minimum qualifications

Master's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year(s) experience in business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling, or data engineering OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years experience in business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling, or data engineering OR equivalent experience.

• Experience in Python and SQL; experience with Spark/PySpark.

Other Requirments:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or preferred qualifications

3+ years of experience in enterprise-scale data engineering and architecture in production environment used at enterprise scale.

3+ years of demonstrated experience working in a data intensive environment and translating business needs into data requirements (experience with Microsoft Azure stack, SQL, Python, Synapse, Power BI, Fabric, Machine Learning and AI)

Experience in Python and SQL; experience with Spark/PySpark.

Hands-on experience with Azure Data Lake, Synapse, Databricks, Fabric, Data Factory, Cosmos DB

Familiarity with CI/CD, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), orchestration tools.

Knowledge of data governance, security, and performance optimization for large datasets

Data Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $85,000 - CAD $166,800 per year.
