The Azure Kubernetes Service team is creating world-class container management and orchestration services for the cloud and beyond. We build container solutions for Microsoft Azure on both Linux and Windows platforms, enabling customers to deploy and manage applications at scale.
Our charter is to define the next generation of cloud-native infrastructure on Azure. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work on container technologies and orchestration using Kubernetes, and develop development and operations (DevOps) tools that make it easier for people to build, deploy, and scale their software on the Azure cloud.
In this role, you will collaborate with experts across multiple domains to deliver innovative solutions that simplify complex workflows and provide high-performance, reliable services for global customers. Required Qualifications:* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, OR Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements:* Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
5+ years experience in commercial software development, including building, shipping, and operating reliable distributed solutions.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
1+ year(s) experience in at least one of the following areas:

Workload and container orchestration using Kubernetes or similar platforms.

Programming in Golang.

Working with Linux systems.
Preferred Qualifications:* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science

OR related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, OR Python

OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

OR equivalent experience.
1+ year(s) experience with container runtimes such as Docker, Rkt, runC, and understanding how containers are enabled by underlying operating system (OS) components.
