Job Description

We’re a pan-European digital wealth manager with 130,000 active investors (growing fast!) and over €5 billion invested on our platform. With 220+ people across 4 offices in Italy and the UK, we’re supported and funded by Poste Italiane, Cabot Square Capital, United Ventures and Allianz. We started in 2011 in Milan with a simple vision - to help more people improve their financial well-being by making personal investing straightforward and accessible through technology. Fast forward a few years, and we’re known as one of the most innovative fintechs headquartered in the heart of London.

Mission

To provide investment solutions and advice to protect and grow client wealth through time.

Our Core Values:

We’ve built our business on three Principles:

Relationships are our first asset: We’re one team, built on trust, honesty and transparency. We value our relationships above all else.

Trust drives success: We give each other the space to grow. We empower our employees to succeed, so they can make a real impact.

Our customers dream big, just like us: We see the bigger picture and we make sure our customers see it, too. We’re always focused on the best outcomes for our clients and for each other, no matter what the goal, or how big the dream

What this means in practice:

At Moneyfarm, diversity is the foundation of our competitive advantage. We value our employees for who they are – their backgrounds, experiences, talents, knowledge and individual differences. This is what makes us better at what we do. To accommodate our different needs and commitments, we offer flexible working to all. Our individual impact and output is what counts most.

About the role:

We are a fast-growing fintech business transforming the way clients access and manage their investments. Our Operations team is central to ensuring seamless, efficient, and scalable client experiences. To further strengthen our capability, we are seeking an Operations Developer—a hands-on technical role embedded within Operations, focused on process automation, back-office tooling, and operational efficiency.

This is not a traditional engineering role. Instead, you will sit within the Operations department and work side-by-side with the team to:

Understand day-to-day operational workflows.

Identify areas where manual processes can be automated or optimised.

Build, maintain, and extend our existing back-office toolset.

Develop dashboards, alerts, and data-driven insights to support proactive decision-making.

*

You will focus on delivering high-impact, low-effort improvements that immediately reduce manual effort and operational risk as well as define and deliver a strategic roadmap for back-office automation, including dashboarding, reporting, and tool enhancements that scale with the business.

Responsibilities

Work closely with Operations teams to analyse workflows, pain points, and manual processes.

Automate repetitive tasks and manual checks using SQL, scripting, or integrations.

Enhance and maintain the back-office system, building new features to support operational needs.

Develop monitoring and alerting systems to enable more proactive operational management.

Create dashboards (e.g. Tableau, Metabase) to give clear visibility of key operational metrics.

Investigate operational bugs and issues, identifying root causes and delivering fixes or automation to prevent recurrence.

Collaborate with technology teams when dependencies arise, ensuring solutions align with business priorities.

Propose and drive a longer-term automation strategy, including AI/ML opportunities to further improve efficiency.

Requirements

Essential

Strong SQL skills (data extraction, transformation, and automation).

Experience developing back-office or internal tools (full-stack capability ideal).

Proven ability to identify and deliver quick wins while building toward a long-term strategy.

Experience with dashboarding / BI tools (Tableau, Metabase, or similar).

Problem-solving mindset, able to investigate root causes of operational issues.

Ability to work directly with non-technical stakeholders and translate operational needs into technical solutions.

Experience in fintech, financial services, or other regulated industries.

Desirable

Familiarity with automation frameworks or scripting (Python, Node.js, etc.).

Knowledge of AI/ML applications for automation and data-driven decision-making.

Understanding of alerting/monitoring systems.

*

What we are looking for

An investigative/enterpreneurial and curious mindset, with the ability to understand complex operational processes.

A hands-on builder who enjoys solving problems quickly, not just designing long-term solutions.

Someone equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves to fix bugs as they are setting a strategy for future improvements.

A communicator who can work across teams, bridging the gap between operations and technology.

*

What we offer

The chance to shape the automation strategy of a fast-growing fintech.

Exposure to both technical and operational challenges, with autonomy to deliver impact.

A supportive environment where experimentation and problem-solving are valued.

The contract will be a fixed term one (6-12 months).
