About the role
The role is for a permanent position of Data Engineer. This position will be part of our Group IT division and will work alongside our business teams to lead the design, implementation and maintenance of our Investment data flows and processes.
This role with gain exposure to the operation of an international financial group working across Ireland, UK, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Isle Of Man.
Responsibilities
Manage upgrade design, implementation and maintenance for our investment Business Intelligence systems.
Liaise with internal clients across multiple teams and business units to fully understand investment data content and data sources and translate into appropriate data models/warehouses.
The ideal candidate will also implement tactical enhancements in the existing system, for example:
Implement scalable ETL pipelines (
SSIS, Azure Data Factory
and others)
Work with existing users and team members to improve current system performance
Gather, understand and document requirements and development changes.
Maintain a detailed overview and understanding of the Data analysis technologies in use across the organisation and provide guidance on future development roadmaps.
Role Requirements
Highly skilled in the following tools/methodologies:
Data modelling , manipulation integration and design
Data management and visualisation
Data quality with ability to introduce early data validations
ETL pipelines (SSIS)
Hands-on experience of projects / programmes that include data manipulation, integration, and ETL processes.
Experience with cloud platform (Microsoft Azure) is a requirement.
Comprehensive knowledge of data design, data modelling, data management, and data visualization.
Solid understanding of querying SQL Server 2017 and above.
Ability to interact with business as well as technical teams.
Experience in finance / asset management fields highly desirable.
Knowledge and experience of Power BI, Power Query and DAX is desirable.
Requirement to be onsite in Dublin office 3 days per week
