Skills and Competencies

7+ years of experience in building and shipping production-grade software systems, particularly in distributed systems, large-scale data processing, and cloud-native services.

Strong proficiency in designing and developing RESTful APIs using microservices architecture, with hands-on experience in AWS and/or Azure environments.

Deep understanding of multi-threading, memory management, and asynchronous programming fundamentals.

Demonstrated ability to debug complex issues in multi-tenant cloud environments and optimize performance through bottleneck analysis and resource monitoring.

Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Leverage AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline processes, and drive innovation within the role and across Moody's.

Education

Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent industry experience. What You’ll Do* Lead the design and development of scalable, cloud-native services for a multi-cloud SaaS platform, ensuring high availability, resilience, and performance.

Architect and deliver end-to-end features, from design through deployment, with a strong focus on quality, maintainability, and operational excellence.

Build and operate distributed, multi-tenant systems using best practices in observability, fault tolerance, and performance optimization.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions aligned with business goals.

Mentor and guide engineers through design and code reviews, fostering technical excellence and continuous learning.

Champion engineering best practices in code quality, security, testing, and continuous delivery.

Diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure and application issues in collaboration with platform and operations teams.

About the Role and Team

As a Software Engineer on our Corporate \& Government Technology team, you’ll build secure, scalable SaaS solutions that support Moody’s public and private sector clients. Our team drives data-driven decision-making, operational efficiency, and risk transparency across government and corporate domains. You’ll lead impactful projects in regulatory technology, public sector analytics, and enterprise-grade software development.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $140,200.00 - $203,350.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
