Overview
Motech Performance is a growing UK automotive brand specialising in performance parts, wheels, suspension and styling upgrades for premium vehicles including BMW, Porsche and other high-performance platforms.
With the recent launch of our dedicated wheel platform motechwheels.com, we are now looking for a Junior Shopify Developer to help develop and improve our ecommerce platforms.
While the websites are already live, our focus now is on driving more traffic, improving SEO and increasing conversions.
This role will focus on Shopify development, UX improvements and search optimisation, helping ensure our websites not only look great but also perform strongly in search engines and attract the right customers.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to build experience in ecommerce, Shopify development and SEO within a fast-growing automotive brand.
Responsibilities Develop and maintain Shopify ecommerce stores using Liquid, HTML, CSS and JavaScript
Build and customise Shopify themes and templates
Improve user experience and site performance to increase engagement and conversions
Implement SEO best practices across the website, including:
page structure
meta titles and descriptions
internal linking
product and collection optimisation
Help identify ways to increase organic traffic through technical SEO improvements
Work closely with the team to improve site navigation, product pages and category pages
Maintain and update existing Shopify content including product pages and collections
Assist with site speed optimisation and performance improvements
Support integration of apps and ecommerce tools where required
Stay up to date with Shopify updates, ecommerce trends and SEO developments
Skills Required
Experience with Shopify and Liquid
Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
Understanding of SEO fundamentals and search engine optimisation
Knowledge of responsive design
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with the team
Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and improve
Experience with Shopify theme development
Knowledge of technical SEO
Experience with Google Search Console, Google Analytics or SEO tools
Understanding of UX/UI design
Experience with WordPress or other CMS platforms
Experience with Git or version control
Experience with React or modern front-end frameworks
Interest in cars, automotive brands or performance vehicles
