Our portfolio includes the emerging capabilities in incident detection, AI triage, and decision support—our Assist AI Projects. We are building the nerve center of the modern public safety tech stack—mission-first, cloud-native, and intelligence-driven. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate, timely visibility into the execution and risks of our Assist AI Projects portfolio.Job Description
We're looking for a dedicated Project Manager to champion clarity and transparency across our high-impact portfolio of Assist AI Projects at Motorola Solutions (MSI).
The core goal of this role is to manage the tracking of all MSI software AI projects, ensuring accurate, centralized visibility for all cross-functional teams and executive leadership. This involves close collaboration with product teams to capture, synthesize, and communicate the plan, AI roadmap, release dates, business measurement results, and inherent risks.
You'll be the organizational hub, converting complex project data into clear, actionable intelligence that drives decision-making.
We need a proactive Project Manager focused entirely on portfolio visibility and data integrity across the Assist AI Projects. You will be responsible for standardizing tracking, reporting project status against the plan, and maintaining accurate, real-time portfolio-level visibility for all stakeholders, including executive leadership.
Your success will be measured by your ability to work closely with Product Owners and Engineering teams to gather and synthesize critical data points on progress, dependencies, risks, and measurement results, ensuring everyone is operating from a single source of truth.
What You’ll Do
Executive Visibility \& Reporting: Design, create, and maintain robust, high-level dashboards and reports that clearly articulate the status of the AI roadmap, anticipated release dates, and major risks across the portfolio for executive leadership consumption.
Plan \& Roadmap Tracking: Partner directly with Product Teams to fully understand the project plan, key dependencies, and overall AI strategy, ensuring that tracking systems accurately reflect the most current plan.
Performance Measurement Tracking: Establish mechanisms to track and report on post-release measurement results and key performance indicators (KPIs), connecting technical progress back to business impact.
Risk \& Dependency Management: Proactively identify, track, and capture cross-team dependencies and potential roadblocks, ensuring project documentation (Jira, etc.) accurately reflects current risks and mitigation plans.
Communication \& Data Synthesis: Act as the central point of contact for project status, gathering and synthesizing progress data, release information, and measurement results into cohesive, easy-to-digest communications for a diverse audience.
Process Governance: Champion and ensure strict compliance with project governance and tracking standards (e.g., within Jira or other tools) to maintain data integrity and consistency across all AI projects.
Basic Requirements
4+ years of experience in Project Management or Program Management, specifically managing complex software development projects (AI/ML or cloud solutions experience is a strong plus).
Expert-level proficiency with project management tools (Jira or Azure DevOps) for tracking, reporting, and dashboard creation.
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and experience operating within these frameworks to capture data effectively.
Technical Fluency: You can speak confidently with engineers and product owners about system architecture and technical dependencies to accurately assess and report on project status and risk.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor detailed information for technical teams and summarized information for senior executives.
Strong analytical skills and extreme attention to detail are required for precise status tracking and reporting.
PMP, Scrum Master (CSM), or similar certification is highly desirable.
Experience in Public Safety or high-availability domains is a strong plus.
What Sets You Apart
You are a proactive data steward who ensures the tracking systems tell the absolute truth about project health.
You excel at synthesizing complex, technical progress into simple, actionable portfolio updates for non-technical stakeholders.
You don't just record data; you understand the AI roadmap and the "why" behind every project update.
You're passionate about ensuring that cutting-edge technology actually gets delivered and that everyone knows exactly where it stands.
