Job Description

Motor Distributors Limited, the exclusive importer and distributor of Mercedes-Benz, smart, BYD and XPENG in Ireland wishes to recruit a Product Manager for our Passenger Car Business Unit.

This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with 5+ years relevant experience in the motor Industry to join Motor Distributors Limited on our growth and transformation journey.

We are looking for a Product Manager with front-seat appetite who can ensure we meet the product needs of the business. In this position, you will play a key role in shaping our product portfolio, influencing process improvements, and supporting a company-wide data platform transition.

The Product Manager reports to the Head of Product Planning. This role delivers value to the organisation by working across our Brand units to construct the optimal product offering for our market; ensuring our product ordering systems are aligned with our overall sales strategy; actively contributing to our drive towards systems change.

Role Profile

*The Product Manager Responsibilities Include:*

Analyse and monitor the market and the competitive position of our products.

Regular focus on our price index position and product specification.

Pro-actively making recommendations on the brands competitive position and reporting findings to Head of Product Planning.

Managing ad-hoc projects which may include autonomous driving, AI and connected services and assist in all new product launches, car reviews and life cycle strategies.

Delivering new product information to our dealer partners in conjunction with the MDL Training Academy.

Providing accurate and timely reports on competitor activity and industry trends.

Monitoring and analysing the market changes and competitive activities

Attending and participating in all dealer / training / customer events when required.

Responsible for producing product guides, brochures and other communications.

Operating all systems, including Jato dynamics and vehicle supply chain management from factory to dealership.

Regular communication with the factory \& dealer network to ensure production and pricing queries are answered.

Provide product support and expertise for vehicles and other assigned product areas.

Provide a high standard of dealership and customer support and car transportation logistics to ensure excellent product delivery.

Ensuring accuracy of all car orders on the ordering systems and car configurators within deadline.

Working with Marketing to translate technical detail into logical communication.

Ensuring accuracy of all product related publications for internal and external users and that process/systems are maintained to satisfy all shareholder interests.

*Qualifications And Experience:*

Minimum of 5+ years experience in the industry ideally specialising in product and pricing.

Degree in Business or related field.

Strong knowledge of the Irish car market.

Experience working with automotive homologation regulatory processes.

Experience using Jato analysis.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, collaboration and presentation skills.

Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, BI/reporting tools, CRM, etc. and ability to learn specific systems.

Track record of project management experience and ability to work to deadlines.

Experience working with dealer networks or in an OEM/distributor environment.

Experience using Data to drive business reporting and commentary

*Skills:*

Strong numeracy and analytical capability, with a high degree of factual accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to interpret data and generate insights.

Passion for industry and general automotive product is essential with an ability to demonstrate ownership for selected models/projects and product presentations.

Strong creative problem-solving skills.

Solid understanding of vehicle features, automotive terminology and market dynamics.

Adaptable and flexible to changing technologies, processes and environments.
