Job Description

At Munro Footwear Group (MFG), we are recruiting for a Senior Data Engineer to help build, scale, and optimise our growing data infrastructure.

In this role, you'll take the lead in designing and delivering robust data pipelines, enabling high-impact analytics and reporting across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and MS SQL

Develop ETL/ELT processes to support analytics, dashboards, and reporting workloads

Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into scalable data models

Build semantic layers and data models for Power BI reporting

Drive data governance, integrity, and compliance across platforms

Apply software engineering best practices - testing, logging, monitoring, and error handling

Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps

About you

5+ years of experience in data engineering or software engineering with a data focus

Retail industry experience or exposure to common data models

Experience delivering production-grade data pipelines

Proficient with Python notebooks, Spark-based transformations, ML pipelines

Familiarity with Lakehouse architecture, Delta Lake, and event-driven

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Experience handling large-scale, real-time, or batch workloads
