Backend Web Developer

Founded by two MIT graduates and located in Boston and Singapore, NetVirta is the world’s leading fit technology provider for medical, retail and sports equipment brands, helping customers order the right size with precision 3D body scanning. We began serving the medical industry in 2013, helping doctors scan medical patients to create custom-fit orthotics and prosthetics. In 2017, we expanded to enable NFL and NCAA football players to obtain custom-fit helmets. Fast forward to 2022, NetVirta’s closed deals with multiple clothing and footwear brands in North America, Europe, and Asia.

*Responsibilities*

Develop and maintain backend services primarily using Python (Django) and MySQL

Design, implement, and optimize data processing and migration workflows

Build and maintain reusable libraries, components, and internal tools to improve developer productivity

Collaborate closely with other developers, project managers, and other teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of features

Participate in code reviews, testing, and performance tuning to uphold code quality and scalability

[Senior] Take on management responsibilities, including mentoring junior developers and contributing to technical direction

Required Skills \& Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related fields

Proficiency in backend technologies, including but not limited to Django, MySQL, and AWS services

Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Excellent and precise communication skills

[Senior] 3-5 years of professional experience in backend development

[Senior] Proven ability to design and architect resilient, scalable software systems, databases, and APIs

[Senior] Experience in code reviews, software/database architecture review, and mentoring developers, with a focus on best practices

[Senior] Hands-on full stack experience highly preferred

[Senior] Familiarity with Agile \& Scrum methodologies
