We’re looking for a
Backend Developer
with strong expertise in building secure, scalable, and high-performance services that power digital platforms. This person will play a key role in shaping cloud-native architectures, driving engineering excellence, and collaborating across teams to deliver reliable and future-ready solutions.
Core Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain backend systems and APIs optimized for scalability, performance, and security.
Partner with Product, QA, and DevOps teams to refine requirements, ensure robust testing, and automate build, deployment, and monitoring pipelines.
Apply modern software practices such as TDD, pair programming, CI/CD, and continuous refactoring.
Conduct code reviews, enforce best practices, and maintain technical documentation aligned with compliance standards.
Enhance backend services for observability, reliability, and long-term maintainability.
Contribute to emerging initiatives, including blockchain and smart contract development.
Qualifications
Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field.
Proficiency in backend languages such as Java, Kotlin, Python, Golang, Node.js, or Ruby.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
Strong knowledge of REST, GraphQL, gRPC, and event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
Skilled in CI/CD pipelines, version control workflows (Git), and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
Familiarity with microservices, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi), and API documentation tools (Swagger).
Experience working in Agile teams with a strong grasp of test automation and software craftsmanship principles.
Preferred Experience
Domain-Driven Design and Clean Architecture.
Government digital services integration (e.g., SingPass, CorpPass).
API gateways and service meshes (Kong, Istio, Apigee).
Serverless platforms (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions).
Blockchain or smart contract development (Ethereum, Solidity, Hyperledger).
