We’re working with a leading global technology organisation in the financial services space that is looking for a
UI-focused Principal Software Engineer
to join a highly skilled engineering team in Galway. This role places a strong emphasis on
frontend development
, with Angular at its core.
What you’ll be doing
Acting as a
UI technical lead
, owning frontend design and implementation
Building and maintaining
modern, scalable Angular applications
Driving frontend best practices, code quality, and UI standards
Collaborating closely with product owners, designers, and backend engineers
Mentoring engineers and leading by example through code reviews and technical guidance
Contributing to CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies, and overall engineering excellence
What we’re looking for
10+ years of software development experience overall
5+ years of strong, hands-on Angular experience
(essential)
Proven experience designing and delivering complex UI applications
Experience working in
full-stack environments
, with exposure to:
Java / REST APIs (integration level)
AWS and cloud-based environments
CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum ways of working
Excellent communication skills and experience working at Principal or Tech Lead level
Nice to have
Previous experience in financial services or regulated environments
Exposure to modern DevOps and cloud-native architectures
