About the Role:
We are seeking applications for the position of Security Test Engineer for our global headquarters and manufacturing campus in Murarrie, Brisbane. You’ll be part of a supportive team, backed by your Leader to grow and achieve your own personal goals in the team. This role is a full-time position Monday to Friday.
Reporting to R\&D General Manager, your key responsibilities will include but not limited to:
· Develop and execute security‑focused test plans and test cases for software applications (mobile and desktop), embedded firmware, and networked devices.
· Perform vulnerability assessment and security testing, including penetration testing on NOJA Power products and supporting tools.
· Conduct threat modelling and contribute to strengthening product security architecture.
· Document and monitor weekly testing outcomes; communicate findings clearly to developers, architects, and project stakeholders.
· Collaborate with development teams to reproduce, analyse and resolve security‑related defects.
· Contribute to the development and maintenance of security automation frameworks and test scripts.
· Support the creation of secure release documentation and assist with cross‑team product handover (QA, Service, Engineering, Production).
· Assist service and development teams with customer cybersecurity inquiries when required.
· Conduct regular regression, performance, stability and security compliance testing, including cybersecurity certification validation (e.g., IEEE 1686).
· Stay current with emerging cyber‑threats, security standards and industry best practices relevant to operational technology and industrial control systems.
What You’ll bring:

· Good verbal and written communication are a must.
· Experience in software, firmware, or embedded system testing, ideally with exposure to cybersecurity testing.
· Understanding of network security principles, ports, protocols, and common attack vectors (preferred).
· Experience in Testing life cycle, System testing, Software Quality Assurance, strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, processes, and other software issue tracking/documentation tools (Jira, Confluence).
· Experience in scripting languages preferred for test automation (Python), previous use of any test framework and Linux experience is beneficial but not required.
· An Engineering background (Computer science, Software, Electrical or Cybersecurity).
· Experience in relevant industry such as Automotive, Aeronautics, Hi-Tech, Mining, Electrical, Energy or Manufacturing is beneficial but not required.
· Good understanding of networking concepts, ports or protocols or previous test experience in networking preferred but not required.
· Knowledge or experience with industrial cybersecurity standards such as IEEE 1686, IEC 62443, NIST frameworks, etc., is highly regarded.
