Summary:

Software Engineer II is responsible for assisting the development team with all aspects of software design and coding that align with the overall goals of our business. The duties of the Software Engineer II include attending design meetings, and depending on the software development assignments, this individual may be supporting the design and development of the Software Support Kit (SSK) package, supporting the design and development of the GUI-based QT sample program and GUI-based Windows test programs, or programs, or supporting the design and development of embedded software.

Requirements: Essential Role and Responsibilities:

Assisting the leads with all aspects of software design and coding.

Assisting with the designing, coding, and debugging of software

Attending and contributing to company development meetings.

Participating in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.

Working on bug fixes and finding solutions in a timely and efficient manner

Expanding knowledge of emerging software technologies and apply them to current projects.

Mentoring software interns

Qualifications and Educations Requirements:

BS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering preferred and a minimum of 2 years of engineering and/or software programming experience.

Knowledge of coding languages like C, C++, C#, and/or Java

Knowledge of basic design principles such as Object-Oriented design and programming

Familiar with various operating systems (Windows, Linux, PetaLinux, VxWorks, Deos, etc).

Ability to work with hardware to develop and debug software which may include using tools like an oscilloscope, multi-meter, logic analyzer and JTAG probe.

Other Skills and Abilities:

Strong oral and written communication skills to collaborate with other staff

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Self-motivated, and possess a high degree of curiosity and desire to learn new things

Good organizational skills

Additional Helpful Skills and Abilities:

Proficiency with Python

Proficiency in unit testing, specifically unit testing in C (using tools like Unity, Cpputest, Google Test, Bullseye, etc.)

Proficiency with C# and C# related tools: C# Forms, C# .NET

Proficiency in building/running C code using compilers such as GCC, G++

Proficiency with artificial intelligence and machine learning
