Position Summary

Are you interested in an opportunity to grow professionally within a positive and progressive culture? We are looking for a skilled Network Systems Engineer to support and oversee network operations, ensuring reliable and efficient service delivery across the organization.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, Network \& Telecom Services, the Network Systems Engineer serves as a subject matter expert and provides technical oversight for the organization’s network operations and related technologies. The Engineer, Network Systems deals with critical network systems, working with IMIT and other Northern Health (NH) business areas to ensure the efficient operation of the data, voice and video network services is highly availability and performant.

Starting salary will be approximately from $88,990 to $111,237 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Qualifications

A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Computing Science and active Juniper or Cisco Professional-level certification and five (5) years' experience in a large information technology services environment in a healthcare environment.

Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) or equivalent IT Service Management training and experience preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

Demonstrated success as a senior network analyst or network systems engineer, with recent experience leading large-scale IT acquisitions or infrastructure configuration and implementation.

Proven ability to write and maintain technical standards, architectural documentation, and operational procedures.

Awareness and understanding of privacy, security, and cloud compliance standards including FIPPA, HIPAA, NIST, ISO, and GDPR.

Demonstrated ability to evaluate and contribute to contract documents such as RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs.

Skilled in drafting, analyzing, and editing project plans, proposals, SLAs, and MOUs for clarity, accuracy, and alignment with organizational goals.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex technical issues from an enterprise perspective.

Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external solution providers.

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including cloud-native networking and hybrid integrations.

Knowledge of Zero Trust Network Architecture (ZTNA) and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) principles.

Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for network automation and infrastructure as code.

Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
