We are looking for a Robotics \& DevOps Engineer to join our team and help develop both our robotic automation system and the software infrastructure that supports it. The ideal candidate will have experience or strong interest in robotics engineering and/or DevOps / infrastructure. You do not need to be an expert in both to apply ā strength in one area with a willingness to learn the other is welcome. Youāll work closely with an Engineering mentor in a fast-paced start-up environment.
Responsibilities
Robotics / Mechatronics
Collaborate with the robotics engineering team to design and develop robotic systems using Arduino or Raspberry Pi platforms.
Participate in the assembly, integration, and testing of mechatronic systems, ensuring adherence to safety standards and quality guidelines.
Develop and optimize software for controlling robotic systems using Python and/or C++.
Work on robotic arm manipulation, kinematics, or pick-and-place robots, including motion planning and control.
Assist in troubleshooting and debugging robotic systems, addressing technical issues and proposing effective solutions.
DevOps / Infrastructure
Help design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for robotics firmware, backend services, and internal tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar).
Contribute to containerization and deployment of services (e.g., Docker) on cloud or on-prem environments.
Assist with managing Linux-based systems, networked devices, and services used in the robotics stack.
Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting to support reliable operation of robotic systems and supporting services.
Develop small automation scripts and internal tools (Python, Bash, etc.) to streamline development and deployment workflows.
Data \& Collaboration
Implement data pipelines and infrastructure to facilitate efficient data collection, analysis, and visualization for robotic applications.
Conduct research and stay updated with the latest advancements in robotics, automation, DevOps, and mechatronics to propose innovative solutions and improvements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and software developers, to ensure seamless integration of components and systems.
Document design specifications, test procedures, infrastructure setups, and project progress for internal and external stakeholders.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
Currently pursuing a degree in Robotics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Robotics track (nice to have):
Experience working with Arduino or Raspberry Pi platforms for hardware prototyping and development.
Solid understanding of mechatronics principles, including sensors, actuators, and control systems.
Previous experience or coursework in robotic arm manipulation, kinematics, or pick-and-place robots.
Knowledge of relevant software frameworks, libraries, and tools for robotics, such as ROS (Robot Operating System) or OpenCV.
DevOps / Infrastructure track (nice to have):
Familiarity with Linux environments, command line tools, and shell scripting.
Exposure to CI/CD concepts and tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, CircleCI).
Experience with containerization (Docker) and/or cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar) is a plus.
Understanding of monitoring and logging tools or practices (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, logs aggregation).
Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++, with an interest in robotics, automation, or infrastructure tooling.
Familiarity with data pipelines and infrastructure for handling sensor data and implementing real-time or near-real-time monitoring systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
Self-motivated and proactive, with a passion for robotics and/or DevOps, and a drive to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.
