New Product Introduction (NPI) Manager

Position Summary

We are looking for a highly organized, hands-on New Product Introduction (NPI) Manager to lead the successful transition of new and evolving products from Engineering into Operations. Reporting to the Director of Quality, this role is at the heart of product launches, ensuring that Production, Test, Quality, Supply Chain, Planning, and Process Engineering are fully prepared for smooth, on-time, and high-quality releases.

You will own the end-to-end operational readiness of new products—translating design intent into manufacturable, testable, and supportable solutions. This is a highly cross-functional role, ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of engineering, manufacturing, and quality, and who thrives on structure, coordination, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

1. NPI Planning \& Cross-Functional Leadership

Lead all operational activities related to new product introductions and product maintenance, including accessories and packaging.

Design, maintain, and continuously improve the NPI framework, including deliverables, tools, templates, checklists, process flows, and meeting cadences.

Act as the primary operational interface between Engineering, Project Management, and Operations (Production, Test, Quality, Supply Chain, Planning).

Participate early in design reviews to proactively identify manufacturing, testing, and quality risks, including new technologies, new assembly methods, and new test strategies.

2. Transfer to Production

Ensure Production receives complete, accurate, and approved documentation, including:

  • Bills of Materials (BOMs)

  • Assembly drawings

  • Work instructions

  • Mechanical and electrical specifications

Drive manufacturability reviews to confirm documentation consistency, version control, and approval status.

Manage and support the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process throughout the product lifecycle (improvements, cost reductions, EOL activities).

Work closely with Process Engineering to define assembly flows, tooling, fixtures, and workstation requirements.

Coordinate pilot builds and ensure structured feedback loops between Production, Engineering, Product Management, and Project Management.

Support debugging activities, RMA feedback, and product-specific training for Operations teams.

3. Transfer to Test (Functional \& RF)

Ensure Test teams receive all required inputs to develop and execute test solutions, including:

  • Test strategies at board and system levels

  • Software/firmware loading requirements and repositories

  • Block diagrams, schematics, and circuit explanations

  • Digital and RF acceptance criteria

  • Test procedures, scripts, and automation plans

  • Test equipment, benches, calibration, and setup guidelines

Track Test readiness milestones and ensure test systems are validated prior to first builds.

Support test coverage planning and alignment with customer, regulatory, and compliance requirements across product gates (EAP, LA, GA).

4. Transfer to Quality

Ensure Quality teams receive and develop:

  • Qualification and reliability requirements

  • Control plans, inspection criteria, and traceability strategies

  • Defect classification guides and operational quality documentation

Coordinate qualification builds, reliability testing, and corrective actions.

Support the release and maintenance of quality documentation required for production launch and sustainment.

5. Supply Chain \& Supplier Readiness

Coordinate supplier selection, qualification, and prototype/initial procurement activities.

Ensure material availability and compliance for first-article and pilot builds.

Participate in component lifecycle management activities (EOL risk, lead times, alternates, compliance).

6. Project Management, Reporting \& Continuous Improvement

Maintain close alignment with Project Managers on timelines, risks, and launch readiness.

Own and update NPI readiness checklists, risk registers, and ramp-up plans for EAP, LA, and GA phases.

Proactively identify risks and lead cross-functional mitigation actions.

Capture lessons learned and continuously improve NPI processes.

Define and track KPIs to measure NPI effectiveness, cycle time, and operational readiness for new and existing products.

Desired Profile

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in NPI, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Engineering, or a similar role in a high-tech environment (electronics, telecom, embedded systems preferred).

Proven hands-on experience working with Production, Test, and Quality teams.

Strong technical understanding of:

  • Electronic manufacturing and assembly processes

  • Functional and RF testing methodologies

  • Product qualification and reliability testing

  • Product development and release lifecycles

Key Competencies

Strong ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and structured problem-solving approach.

Clear, confident communicator with strong facilitation and technical writing skills.

Natural collaborator with the ability to influence without authority.

Fluent in French and English, spoken and written for efficient communication in our international colleagues.
