About the Job:
We have an opportunity for an experienced Cloud \& Platform Support Engineer to join the team, reporting to the Technical Lead. This role is responsible for Level 2–3 support, stability, and continuous improvement of OET’s cloud, network, and SaaS-based technology environment. It focuses on cloud engineering, platform administration, automation, patching, and technical escalation, working closely with the Technical Lead and Managed Service Provider (MSP) to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable operations. While the role is not frontline-focused, the Cloud \& Platform Support Engineer provides ad hoc end-user support for escalated or complex issues, ensuring continuity of service and high-quality outcomes when deeper technical expertise is required.
As a
Cloud \& Platform Support Engineer
you will:
•Cloud \& M365 Administration (L2) - provide advanced support and administration for Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 platforms, including Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Intune. Diagnose and resolve complex platform issues and contribute to long-term stability and optimisation.
•Application \& System Support - provide Level 2–3 support for enterprise and SaaS platforms (e.g. Jira, Confluence, ITSM tools, collaboration platforms, identity services). Manage access, configurations, and escalated incidents.
•Network \& Security Support - work with the MSP to support cloud and on-prem connectivity including wired/wireless networks, VPNs, VLANs, and firewalls. Perform hands-and-feet intervention where required and coordinate escalation with MSPs and ISPs for office, VPN, or platform-related issues.
•Operational Incident \& Problem Management - diagnose and resolve advanced issues across Windows, M365, Azure AD, networking, and security platforms. Act as an escalation point for complex incidents from the Systems Engineer. Perform root cause analysis, document outcomes, and contribute to problem management and service improvement initiatives.
•Automation \& Asset Management - support and continuously improve technical aspects of the asset lifecycle, including, standards, patching, configuration baselines, refresh cycles and endpoint compliance across devices and platforms using Intune, PowerShell, and automation tooling. Identify and implement opportunities to automate manual operational tasks to improve efficiency, consistency, and security posture.
•Ad Hoc End-User Support - provide limited, on-demand support for escalated or complex end-user issues that require L2/L3 expertise, while maintaining focus on platform and engineering responsibilities.
•Documentation \& Training - create and maintain user guides, knowledge base articles, and technical documentation. Deliver ad hoc training sessions to enhance user self-sufficiency and best practice adoption.
What you bring to OET:
•Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
•Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Network Engineer Associate, Azure Fundamentals, Azure Security Engineer Associate.
•4-6 years in cloud engineering roles, with demonstrated Level 2+ responsibilities within a hybrid or cloud-first environment.
•Strong experience in MS Azure and M365 administration
•Proficient in Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams and end point management.
•Hands on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and networking (DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, routing, hybrid connectivity).
•Experience with endpoint compliance tools (Intune policies).
•Hands on experience with PowerShell scripting or other automation capabilities
•Experience with ITIL-based service management practices and modern ITSM tools.
•Exposure to deploying and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) pipelines using modern tools and practices is desirable.
•Understanding of frameworks and industry standards such as ITIL, COBIT, etc.
•Demonstrated ability to communicate empathetically, manage priorities, and provide responsive on-site support.
•Collaborative approach, supporting the Technical Lead and peers while maintaining a positive presence across the business in hybrid or cloud-first environment.
